Hang on in there UnluckyT, it's the time of year when the weather's totally carp, it's too cold and wet to do anything outside, and there's nought but dross on the TV. Good luck when you see the GP on Monday.:o

Talking of medical bods.... if anyone has a few posi-vibes to spare, it's my hossy appointment tomorrow; I'm terrified of the rheumy, and dreading going, but it has to be done. If it doesn't sound too masochistic, I'm hoping my joints will act up tomorrow the way they have been the past few weeks - the idea being that she actually sees me trying and failing to move my joints properly, and maybe even hear them clicking and grinding.

Knowing my luck, nothing will show up in my blood tests (such is the nature of lupus) and sadly my rheumy is one of those "if it ain't in the blood test, it ain't hurting you" types.:(

I shall shut up now, 'cos I'm waffling......

I thought I would update my situation for all the support I have had from people on here.

My counselling has brought me on leaps as bounds. Finally things are starting to click into place in my head. My anger, guilt and fears are being addressed. I am nowhere near the end but lightness is falling into my personal life.

Work life is a different thing altogether! I have started a new job and hate it. The bullying from managers is horrible, and this started on my first day. They talk to you like you are poo on their shoe! It's not just me they do it to everyone. I am applying for other jobs and I hope one comes up soon! I have only been there 2 weeks, but already my old ways are creeping back in. I'm snappy with everyone at home and in tears most evenings when I get in. This has only happened since starting at work.

I won't be beaten though. I will fight through it, I will get a better job. And I will be a stronger person for it.

Thanks for the update, divadee. Sorry to hear the job is pants; hopefully something better is in the pipeline for you.;)

It'd be easy for me to say to you to switch off from work the minute you step out of the door, but I know from personal experience that it's not so easy to do. Try to hang onto the fact that they're like it with everyone there, and it's a corporate issue, not just that they're picking on you.:o

Very best of luck with your quest for a job where you're appreciated and treated like a human being.:o

Hi i dont know what to write.

I hate being alive, i cant cope with simple day to day tasks and it gets worse every year that goes by.

Everything is a mess, have not been able to pay rent in months, will be evicted soon which is fair as it is extremely unfair on the landlord, he still has to pay his mortgage. Housing benefit claim is being processed and it looks like ESA and housing benefit will never get sorted out.

I saw my GP and have been seeing a psychiatrist for the past 3 months. The psychiatrist's job is just to give medication, they have referred me to a different team who promise a lot and said i could have support in place within a week, then in a few weeks time, now it will be in the New Year.

I hate how people say we will help you, provide support and i get my hopes up, in the end they dont provide help, i would prefer it if people were upfront.

I went to the housing team and i saw an angry man who they were threatening with the police, i could see why he was so angry, he felt like they promised help but they really dont, they should say straight away we cannot help you, then no one would have the expectation and hope they will get help. My reaction was to cry hysterically, they cant help, hostel places are only for people with children or people they say are vulnerable, which is people with alcohol and drug addictions.

I typed something else but deleted it as it probably will be really controversial and i could not deal with nasty comments.

The psychiatrist did refer me for psychology two months ago, i am on the waiting list, i dont know maybe psychology might help a little.

hi respiratory23.
I am sorry to hear that life is so tough for you at the moment and that you feel so down.
Do you have a crisis team? Anyone that you can call for immediate help? Friends or family?
If not, please consider calling a helpline:

Samaritans
08457 90 90 90* (UK)
1850 60 90 90 (ROI)
Or email jo@samaritans.org

Mind:
http://www.mind.org.uk/help/advice_lines they can also help with legal and housing advice.

Can you contact your psych again, and ask for more support?

didn't want to read and run - thinking of you R23
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

respiratory23 I second the idea of emailing Samaritans; they were very helpful to me when I was not just at rock bottom, but tunneling as well a little while ago. I can't use the telephone (am phobic) but found their email service to be brilliant. I hope you can get some help very soon.

*waves* to everyone else - can't stop, I have a hungry DH wanting food (that he's going to help make):A, and as I'm in the middle of a lupus flare-up, everything's taking three times as long as usual to do.

I know we are not allowed to ask for medical advice (which i am NOT doing), but i am wondering if people have any suggestions for treating depression without the use of medication?
