Hi, I am a newbie to the site and thought I would introduce myself.

I suffer from mild depression and have been taking Fluoxetine since the birth of my four year old child. I am about to arrange counselling from where i work as they offer it. I think it will help to talk through my issues and stresses.
    I hope it helps

Thanks guys :) Yes, me and Gilly Badger are getting married on Tuesday. We are both very, very happy. I hadn't mentioned it before now because I didn't to make a big fuss, but it was MSE that brought us together and we both were always, and still remain, very fond of the posters on this thread. So although I know many of you have difficulties at the moment, I hope you don't mind our sharing this news with you.

I never, ever thought I'd find happiness in life. Never give up:)

    Much love to you all,

    Sazzy xxxx

    Congratulations

It is nice to hear some good news and hear about people getting together after meeting on a forum.

    Morning all.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. Im trying not to spend so much time on the internet and spend more time out walking the dogs. Much healthier. Sorry for all of you who are having trouble and as for your husband, vpb23, tell him that if it was possible to shake depression off then we would all do it! It isn't that simple and you need help and tlc. Don't let him or anyone else make you feel guilty for being that way - you didn't ask for depression it just happens.

    Hi

Glad to see you are out and about with the dogs. The weather was so good last week and gave me a boost. It's gone a bit cold again:(

I am very affected by the weather. Thankfully not the ash cloud.

The first weekend of the volcanic ash I had irritated and sore eyes. No one else did but Im sure it was the ash that did it because Im fine now.

Sorry you are having a hard time, UnluckyT.

Good to see you are putting a positive on the anniversary.

They will run rings round you if you aren't careful:D

Too late, they already run rings around me, although as they are ageing, more like trotting rings around me. They know how to make me feel guilty!

Hope things are okay with you at the moment, weather aside. It's turned miserable again :o

I had sore eyes as well, but didn't put it down to Volcanic Ash, I just thought it was maybe hayfever.

Hope everyone is as well as can be.

Yup, sorry, I did mean eating disorder - I'm bulimic.....

Still getting trapped by it and I can't help it...It's that or worse things...

On the up side, OH (Pint) has actually listened, and hasn't been drinking so much. He looks better for it too, lot more alert and happy.

    I feel your pain!

I have eating disorders (more then one) in treatment at the moment- I don't think mine will ever go away, its just about learning to live with them. I have managed to gain enough weight to be (more then) healthy and as a result cut the bulimia (I really do not think it is possible to cut the bulimia without cutting the anorexia for me at any rate) but the weight then becomes an issue all over again, unhelped by the fact that both my parents are overweight so I worry I'm also wired to be similar.

Hope you manage to get away from your ED (or what of it you can), its not easy, never will be easy but is definetly do-able and is SO worth it! I never ever want to go back to the hell that was my bulimia, its like a daily nightmare, though I am very aware that its just a trip and fall away from me at any one second. Its a huge balancing act but the pay off is worth it.

Glad things are looking up for your OH, seems like you both have big battles on your hands, hope its going OK.

Glad your managing ok- hey that volcanic ash thing, I've had dry eyes for the past week....but tbh never thought (or think) it was/is the volcanic ash, you see in the wonder that is London, you step onto the tube for a few stops, get off, blow your nose and its black! (scary!) I tend to think that for us here volcanic ash would just slip through the radar...but do have dry eyes (insert shrugged shoulders smiley here...)

I'd wonder if the NHS have any reports of oncreased asthma or lung issues? ir could well be hayfever, last week was quite warm and things (things made from pollen) do grow more with the sunlight and dry conditions would mean pollen and dust would be able to travel more. Is really confusing! Wish they had some air testing service or something! Have not seen anything on the news...
