You must be so upset, Miro. Be assured that there are people here who know exactly what you are going through. How lovely for your cat that you cuddled her in her last hours - she is very lucky. Its good that they can do the cremation soon and you can have her home with you. Hopefully she is happily running around with your other cat and one day you will meet them again. Thinking of you.0

Thank you everyone
The cremation went well and she is home in her 'sleeping cat' box.
I'll notice this alot for a while, as we made adjustments that we needn't make now, for a blind cat.0 -
Hi guys
Thank you for your PMs, they really helped.
Our son is keeping his head down and biding his time.
It has been a stressful year for us with stop start house moving, helping my mum out with her problems, my stepdad dying, my mum being odd, our son's problems, and trying to get our business going, which is ticking along.
We had a wasp's nest in the roof but the queen has gone and we had 20 dying wasps getting into our house a couple of weeks ago which was horrible.
We have seven months to go now and are seriously thinking about getting some distance between the family. I haven't really been able to live my life properly ever. Been a mother for 22 years, married nearly 28 years and been a dutiful daughter all my life.
We were tempted to buy a flat near us to rent out but feel it would be a lot of work and hassle for little return, plus it is a tie.
We feel it would be best to move to somewhere new together but he isn't exactly the easiest person either.
PS - does anyone know what the < bug is ?An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

To be honest i'm very tired. I didn't sleep last night and got about 2.5 hours earlier. Flatmate went to bed at same time and has not reappeared yet, so feel a bit lonely tonight, although my other 3 cats are with me and have been sitting with me on the sofa.
We had great times, I just can't help feeling that when she was struggling for breath, I didn't help her. I didn't know what to do and it was heartbreaking to see her struggling
Her name is Dopey, because she was Dopey and always doing silly things, although her brain was fine when it came to certain things. She knew exactly when you were up to something and didn't fall for your pranks
Something else I have never said - when you sat on the sofa to chill, she often came and sat across you, but when you were on the single chair and you were watching anything but sport on TV, she'd come over and sit on the floor for a stroke, but if you were watching sport, she'd jump on the chair with you and literally watch it. Very bizarre, but it's what she did and it earnt her the nickname, Sporting Dopes
When she was younger and she wanted attention, she used to grab you and it hurt. She worked out for herself that it hurt you and she developed a technique of lightly tapping you when she wanted attention. The others never worked it out, but she was a clever little one, albeit a clever one that walked into chairs, fell off sofas and tripped over shoes, before her blindness.
I'll miss her dumbness and her gentle sweet nature. I'll never meet another living being so happy go lucky and gentle. The kind of cat you'd give £500 too, nick £499 back and still look at it as £1 up on what she had. An absolute joy.0 -
Your cat sounds lovely and very special, Miro.
Glad to see you back CCStar. I think it would be a good idea to get more distance between you and your mum. If she is like some mums I know then it doesn't matter how much of a dutiful daughter you are, its never enough.
I was cooking a sausage for my OH's tea last night and when I added the bacon (what is it with men and fryups? Yuck!) the hot oil just seemed to leap out of the pan at me and I burnt three fingers on my right hand. I kept my hand cold all night and kept putting antiseptic on it but it really hurt and this morning I have a big blister on one finger and a tiny one on another. I shall go to the chemist and ask advice. I think I'll have to pop it because I am liable to break it accidentally anyway because its on my hand. Just need some proper dressing.0
