    I've been Money Tipped!
Not OS - sorry, but have to share!

Little bear was having a pre-lunch nappy change and I was talking as I normally do, this time about lunch. I asked whether he fancied cheese on toast - and he then SAID T and then made the sign for cake.

He has been demolishing teacakes this morning, he had one, then rather insistently handed the very empty plate back to me and then ate every scrap of a second. And now he SAID T and then made the sign for cake. He is finally starting to communicate verbally. :j:j:beer::beer::j:j:beer::beer:

So he is now enthroned in his own chair, eating a teacake (eating out the currants, licking off the butter and then eating the rest ) and I've given him some grapes and chopped pear and some fortified milk shake. It may not be my idea of a perfect lunch, but it will do for now.

justpeyton4now - thank you for the teacake recipe! I can see it being needed.

Sistercas - I think you will have to keep an eye on your furry friend. There is a good chance that it is nothing, but cats do hide what they feel.

MoneySavingDiva - hugs and my thoughts and prayers are with you and Tristan.

Smokey - I don't really 'know' you very well, but I hope all goes well for you.

    Hugs to all.

Thank you to everyone for their good wishes for our very imminent move. I went to Dunelm this morning to look at curtains. I must say their ready made range has really improved, I found some that will suit the kitchen, blue check. Several that will suit the living room, I took photographs of them so OH could have a look at them, one set of shabby chic type appeals to us both. I was also looking at voile panels.....I picked up 2 and then went looking at the nets curtains I found some plain white, I can sew tape over the rod slot and mount a track under the top of the window so we can draw them back to get out of the patio door without putting the kitchen on display.

I also picked up a new oil burner (OH broke my last one) a blue and yellow tiny bird house and a green and yellow chicken sitting on a crate. They could not find the price for the chicken so I got it for 99p result.........they have started a craft section and I picked up 3 strips of stickers for £1, they should be 49p each..........so not a bad morning.

OH has driven me mad keeps saying that he wants to pot on his tomato's I think he has said it every day since he got them.......so guess who is going to the allotment this afternoon to pot on tomato's. Its like chinese water torture, drip, drip, drip................drives me up the wall.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Afternoon all.

Oh, I am sooooo TIRED today.

Strange weekend - we went and got the veggies from the market Saturday morning, and I suddenly started feeling really rough and we had to come home. Ended up with a stonking migraine, which I did put down to worrying about the quiz sunday night. But then we had a pretty hefty hailstorm. So that explains it. I'm very sensitive to weather changes, and I reckon that was the problem.

Sunday we did loads of jobs - usual Sunday things like ironing, cleaning (stuff I can't manage alone) and of course Sunday night - the QUIZ!! It went better than I'd hoped - our team was one short, as our friend's wife was unwell so didn't come, but we still came 2nd. We ended up raising £60 for St Thomas Lupus Trust, so a success there.

I'm having a bit of a sofa day today, to recover, and Mr LW will help me prepare veggie bangers'n'mash for dins tonight. We should've been attending a CAMRA branch meeting tonight, but we've sent our apologies and will stay home (probably do a bit of gaming on the PC).

((((HUGS)))) to all who are unwell, unhappy, worried, or just want a hug.

Sybil - great news about little bear's talking. It was 20 odd years ago now but remember my DS1's first word when he was about 2ish. He wouldn't say a word, just pointed. He was looking out of his nan's window (she lived on the 9th floor overlooking a main road) and pointed and just said 'bus'. We all looked at each other and said yeah a bus!!! Its a brilliant feeling :j

2nd load hung out on washing line. Hopefully it will dry so that I can get it ironed and out of the way. Loaf just out of the BM.

Have a good day all xxxx

    Afternoon all,

Had a busy morning, cleaned kitchen and bathroom to within an inch of its life :D , hoovered through, mopped floors one load of washing blowing on the line, (its a beautiful day here ), peeled spuds for dinner, and picked normal and purple sprouting brocoli form the garden :T prepped that and some carrots, huge bit of pork is in the oven, and I have made 12 cookies, 12 lemon drizzle cup cakes and a lemon drizzle tray bake, in the new silicone bakeware :T , quick question does anyone know if you are meant to grease the silicone  , I did anyway but not sure if I need to.

Sybil :T :T well done to LB, you probably are doing this anyway, but I would constantly chat away to him, and ask him questions so that he has to give you an answer, like ' teacake of toast for lunch ?' Give him a big kiss from me xx

Marie, and lamewolf hugs to you both xx

kazzaw, sorry we missed your birthday, I dont think you are on the birthday list, so have a belated one :D :bdaycake:

Taplady, well done on the weight loss x

Csarina hope all goes well tomorrow xx

Mummysaver, good luck with the tests, hope its nothing too serious xx

The twin's first word was "No" and it went downhill from there!!!!! I knew they "could" understand or talk but just did not want to. Eventually they did talk but it took ages, speech therapists etc.

Delighted little bear is starting to talk :j .

You may have a similar virus to the one I got on Thursday- thought it was a cold but had to keep going to bed coughing and sneezing for a couple of hours beween doing the odd household task. Even considered going to the doctor this morning as I felt so wiped out , then suddenly started to feel better. Have been throwing hot lemon, home made elderberry syrup etc down my neck and it seems to have helped.

Made a home made loaf this morning and DH hung out two loads of washing for me.

Tea will be a la leftover shoulder of pork with roast potatoes and veg done in the Remoska. DD(15) can have a home made pasta dish as she is quite picky.

Welcome to Paige :hello: and anyone else new that I have missed saying Hello to. Have been reading the thread every day but feeling so stuffed up with this cold I could not take anything in properly.

Order arrived this morning from approved foods and the box of Fabulous Baking Boys cup cakes were not 6 or 12 to a box - they were about 30!!!!!!

Got loads of flapjacks and cereal bars for DDs packed lunch for school, cans of asparagus spears, packets of posh muesli for DH, posh crackers and some chocolate that will be hidden away for emergencies.

DD(23) has the day off and very kindly went out to post letters and buy milk etc as I am not up to going out yet.

    Lillibet

Good luck with your buyers and please send some luck our way as we are still trying to sell ours. Getting fed up with people who rave about the house and how massive it is etc then are never heard of again

    Hugs to everyone

    Afternoon all

Just home from work and having a quick coffee before I start (probably would have been a better idea having one after as a reward, as I do not want to get up again now that I have sat down - ah well!!!)

Not much OS being done today, think I worked myself to a standstill over the weeked, bm on however for packed lunches tomorrow and I have loads of baked goods dotted around. Tea tonight is going to be a quick easy one of eggs (just been given loads of duck and goose eggs by a friend with a farm!!!!) bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. I enjoy that sort of meal much better as a tea than a breakfast!

Rest of afternoon will have to be spent sorting out paperwork and bill paying etc (mostly on computer) as it is that time of the month.

Hugs to all who need or want them, I will read back on thread to catch up once I have finished my bill sorting!

Hope you are all having a good day.

    xxx
