  • Morning All,

super tired today, hate it whent he clocks change; roll on home time!

Got caught up with laundry over the weekend and did a good food shop. Got 2pks of 'fancy' mince from Mr S which I worked out that I could stretch 4 portions into 4 meals for OH and I. Was meant to get hair cut on Sat morn but stupid Hairdresser had forgotton to book me in:mad: not only had I got out of bed for nothing i had also put £4 into the parking meter:mad: ARGH! So i am begrudgingly (sp) going back on thursday evening.

Nice quiet day yesterday of lazing on sofa watching tv. Missing OH just now and he is pretty fed up as he has been on nightshift for entire trip. Sent him a couple of cheer up emails and have promised to pamper him when he come home on thurs.

Nessie - I too was at the Edinburgh game, was thankful they won as it wasn't the best display of rugby.

TiredMum- Enjoy the log cabin, i think you need it!

Csarina - Good luck with the moving pet!

DonnyGal - That diet does not sound like fun, i wish you best of luck...I love cheese and chocolate too much!

Got a nice salami & mozzerella salad for lunch, tea will be cheese & ham kiev with leftover veg.

Hugs to everyone else today xx

Up after about 3 hours sleep, feel tired before I start today.

Just had my brekkie and a large mug of coffee, second mug coming up, maybe it will wake me up a bit. No sleeping this afternoon I need to sleep tonight, and up early in the morning to catch the 9.40am bus into town to collect the keys.

Its a dullish looking morning, OH has just wandered through with his mug from last night......in the shower now.

Not much OS going on, the cleaning is on hold just now, might manage to clean the bedroom, but the sitting room is a no no.......too much stuff in the middle of the floor.

Seems to be a lot of traffic on the road this morning, wonder if there is a problem on the main road.....I hope not, I need to go along part of it in an hour or so.

We had one of our old SHO's on duty yesterday, I saw him in the corridor when I went to collect the laundry from the dryer. He had not heard about our second residents death.....was quiet shocked when I told him. It bears out something I have thought for a while, SHO's do not talk to one another. He only found out about Gwen last week.............he was suprised to hear that we are moving out.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Sybil - I hope you soon feel better x

Donny Gal - could the problem be that you are eating too little? sounds daft but your body will hold on to fat if it feels like its not getting enough to eat making losing weight even harder. I lost nearly 2 stone to get to my target weigh with SW and we are told we need to eat to lose weight, you wouldn't believe how much I eat but I've kept my weight off for over a year so far. I love my food and cant stand feeling hungry:)

welcome to Paige and the other recent additions to the OS daily:hello:

    Hi guys,

I was supposed to be on a trainng day today but it was cancelled. Good thing I phoned to check otherwise it would have cost me my fares and an hour of surfing time.

The weekend has been pretty much lost to the pc (again) but following some pointers from the guy at work about re-installing the original discs that came with it, it hasn't crashed since..........fingers and toes crossed. Otherwise I have done the ironing, done the pennies for this week, kept the place tidy and played referee the majority of the time.

It's cold, grey and raining outside so doing anything there is a no-no today. I have a wash load to go in the TD and a swift hoover to do and then I think I will sit and try and do some financial forecasts for the next few months. The aim being to up the mortgage repayments so that I am not stuck with it until I am 67.   On the plus side the shopping has come in at £51.27 this week, and the shop is +2 days on last weeks (delivery later today). The biggest expense is the blooming cat food - 14 tins per week and dried for 4 cats and milk - 24 pints  and I only use it in coffee. :rotfl:

Csarina, good luck with the move. xxx

Pen-pin, gentle hugs to you hun. xxx

Halight, I hope you feel better soon. xxx

Gentle hugs to all else in need today,

    Smoky. xxxx

    Morning all!

Many thanks to everyone for all their kind thoughts and words yesterday. Our girl cat is miaowing around looking a bit lost today, still I'm sure she be off to snooze soon and then the kids will give her lots of attention when they crash in and wake her!

Paigexstewart - welcome to the thread, everyone is welcome, and this is a great place, lots of fun, advice, inspiration and always a listening ear and a lot of support.

Not read back on today, but will in a mo. Have been to the hospital this morn, more tests, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll deflate with the amount of blood they keep taking! I now have a bit more info, but I'm back on Wed for some more tests, neither of which sound particularly nice, but after that there should be some firm results and I can be treated. So not good news, but not all bad either.

OS today is lacking, I gave the big kids money for their lunch as I was in a flap trying to get out early for my appointment, dd3 took hm marmite rolls, chunk of cucumber, raisins, a few minstrels, hm yoghurt and a carrot. Think I'd best buy some fruit today lol! And possibly get on with some baking!

Not done anything to the house, amazingly the kids didn't destroy it whilst I was at work last night, I'm pretty sure they hoovered too! Can anyone guess it's almost pocket money day?! Not much needs to be done, quick wipe over in the kitchen, which I will do when I wash up from my soup making - done lentil soup for my lunch, not been eating much recently and I really fancied this, so thought I'd whip some up, smells lovely, plenty of garlic as well so no vampires will get me anytime in the next month I should think!

Dinner tonight could be anything, I've lost my menu plan! Will prob do something mince based, meatballs perhaps as everyone loves those, and I have some mince to use up in the fridge. Will add tracking down the missing menu plan to my list!

Most of today will be spent typing up reports on the pooter, and prob a fair bit of surfing too! I suspect that all the time that computers save us, they also cost us too! Then I'm working again tonight, no rest for the wicked!

Smokey - I get through loads of milk too, now for sauces I often use powdered, think it saves money, certainly means that we don't run out of milk quite so often! Don't know if this would work for you at all?

Off for a surf before I do some work, hugs to all xx

Totally agree with you! When I am rushing around I don't look after myself and go for hours without food but never lose any weight. I lost 3 stone a few years ago and ate more then than I have ever done in my life!!

Unfortunately it has all crept back on and I am struggling to lose it again!! Must get more organised and bring my little healthy snacks into work!!

  • Afternoon all my OS friends! hi.gif

Morwenna and Meanmarie - hugs to you both
Mummysaver - so so sorry to hear about your darling cat xx
MountainAsh - I am trying to get back in line on the grocery challenge too, I failed for two months in a row so gave up trying in March but my OH and I are determined to manage it this weekend.
Essex - Woohooo, I thought I was the only person in the world who liked peanut butter and marmite on toast, over the years every time I mention it to some one they make sicky noises, even those who like marmite!
Redruby - we bought a set of silicon bake ware from QVC a few months ago and love it. You do need to stand it on a metal tray though as once warm they collapse all over the place so for ease of use put them on something solid in the oven!
Csarina - Good Luck with the move
Halight - hope you feel better hon

Tristan collapsed again on Saturday night. He is back in hospital. My friend says he is concious again so that is good.

It's really cold here today and I am tired. I just painted my nails so typing slowly!

We have a test drive this afternoon as we have to order the motability car imminently and I still have no idea what car to have. They have all been uncomfortable or not suitable so far! I don't expect perfection, am happy to compromise but just hoping something we try the next week or so is better.

Dinner will be freezer suprise, we are going to try and run it down a bit. Fish fingers and mash sounds nice to me right now.

Warm gentle hugs hugs.gif to everyone who needs or wants one - do something nice for yourself today.

P.S Apparently at the moment on pkts of Kingsmill bread there are tokens for Wallace and Gromit collectables. I know we all mostly make our own bread but if ANYONE has any spare tokens then I would LOVE them. Thank you xx

    Afternoon all,

Cold and cloudy here to-day although the wind seems to have slackened off a bit...second wash in machine and would like to get it out on line if possible.
Sorted two bags of clothes for clothes bank and will get rid to-day when I go to collect DGS2 from school.

Another neighbour burgled the other day, nothing gone as daughter and her OH came on burglar and police caught him with a full car....we don't normally close gate at night have been doing so since, will lock it when we go away for 10 days at Easter, will at least stop them from getting out with anything, neighbour across the road is very good for keeping an eye, will give him a key in case anything goes wrong. Hate having to live like a prisoner....only started locking doors a few years ago!

Hugs to all who are not feeling well, I just have no energy these days, everything I do is an effort, trying to force myself to do things to get rid of clutter, not buying anything at present, so it has to work eventually.

Just had some stewed rhubarb from yesterday when I got up, OH is doing BLT at present, so that will be lunch and we are having pasta for dinner...tomato sauce with some salami chopped in and will have salad as we have lots at present so using that and not buying veg if I can help it.

    Have a good day all

    Marie
