Got to agree with the majority tho ... he's probably going through all manner of stress trying to psyche himself up to ask you!! He's obviously wanting it to be special, to bring it along with him there ... so what if he got cold feet .. ?? Maybe he's going to arrange something at home ... romantic restaurant etc ... to ask you then!!

Leave him be, It has to be the 'right moment' what actually constitutes the right moment could be anything, so hang on there and be patient.
It took me at least 18 months, from knowing I wanted to propose, to actually doing the deed.0
