Hi everyone,
I have just started to realise i need to do something about my weight. One of my much delayed new years resolution, although i have cut out the takeaways and sugary drinks.
I have joined a gym and been going before i go to work. I try and aim to do between 30-60 mins workout, 30 mins at weekends because of opening times and 50-60 mins weekdays depending on whether i snooze.
I am not going to try a diet altough i am reading up on some. I am trying to manage my portion control and count my calories.
I am amazed at the support that is given and received on this thread and am looking forward to next months challenge for losing half a stone in may.

hiya everybody. i am so pleased! remember i didn't weigh myself last week? well i took the plunge today and i have lost another 7lbs!!! i am over the moon.
i have good weeks and bad but i wanted to say a big thanks to everyone here as this thread has kick started me into making the effort. i have been needing to do this for a long time and the exercise and weight loss has really helped with my depression too.
didn't catch the biggest loser meant to watch it too, will try to get it on catch up.

Well done to the losers, and good luck for next month.
My offical April result......0lb. I sts through April. weighed in this morning at 137lb.
May 1st tomorrow and I will lose some weight in may. I will.0 -
Never too Late - If I got in the right frame of mind I know I could loose 7lb in 3 weeks, but I've lost the flow. I haven't done too bad this week, think I will prob sts as have had 3 birthday nights/meals this week, so sts would be a great achievement. I'm also 40 in 2½ weeks and, up till this week have been feeling very despressed about it. Depressed = eat!! I'm feeling much better about it now, not totally ok, but getting there. I walk where I can but this can be difficult as we live between 2 and 3 miles from the girls schools, my work is about the same distance. We play on the Wii when we can, I play outside with the girls and take them to the beach. I did do lots of lifting and moving yesterday, feel it today, so that was like a workout.
My main prob is motivation. I will get there, it will just take me a while. But then, better that than loosing it all really quickly and putting it back on.
Me and my friend have now realised that when we go to WW meeting she is not going to tell us we have lost a stone!!!!! Now wouldn't that be nice.
By the way, if I sts my total for April will be ........ -½lb!!!!! But, May tomorrow and I really will make a big effort.
Enough of my woes, well done to everyone who has lost and sts, kick up the bottom to anyone who needs one (I need loads!!!)
I agree with the others Dragon, you are really supportive to everyone, so hopefully you have a better May.

O dear, just checked my starting weight for the month and it was 13st 1.5lbs so overall this month I have gained 1/2lb!!! Argggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!:mad:
O well, new month tomorrow - I'll weigh in again in the morning and put my weight on the new thread. Next month I HAVE to get at least the 7lbs off!0
