If the gas supplier in ROI can now supply electricity why can't Phoenix Gas in NI?
as far as I know when NIE was sold off there was a deal that they would not have any competition until around 2024 .

You have got to be kidding?! Didn't the Monopolies Commission (or whatever it's called) not see the news? Think I'll get a windmill.

oh my god - got our NIE bill yesterday - £305!!!

the last one in january was £215 which i thought was ridiculous so we were very careful not to leave anything on, didnt use tumble drier once, all lights off etc etc. I couldnt believe it when i got this bill - then i checked the prices - in january is was 12.6p a unit and now its 16.88p - ridiculous,

I dont know how to cut down any more - nothing is on that much theres only 2 adults and 1 baby in the house. We dont use an immersion heater, we dont have an electric shower, we dont use a tumble drier. I just cant understand it! When we first lived together our bill was £50-£60 a quarter (4 yrs ago).

Because the bill you have just received is for the last quarter (when prices were 16.88p per unit). Your next bill will show 15.81p although the price may well be different by then

Only worked this out last time myself.

my 77 year old aunt received her bill for £94 .
which I would consider good until I remembered she didn't have a washing machine or use the immersion heater .

Hmm, now that we've offically got "deflation", there's still no sign of those scumbags in NIE reducing their prices to an honest level.
