  • We received a letter from PastDue Credit Solutions claiming that we owed "TTI SPC for SP1" just over £1200. We checked with all of our utility companies and found that we owed none of them anything apart from our current bill. So we wrote - just to be on the safe side - to PastDue asking them to provide documentary evidence/proof that we owed this doubt. We have heard nothing back. I doubt that we will hear anything. But, what I have done is sent PastDue an invoice for the time it took us to investigate their claim and the stress caused by their claim that we owed this doubt. Of course they have not paid this invoice. I have just sent them a letter noting that they have not paid the invoice by the due date and will use whatever legal remedies are available - including applying to the County Court - to collect the monies owed.

There are too many companies/government agencies who think that they can walk all over us with impunity. It's wrong and they need to suffer consequences.

If you receive a letter demanding money for a debt that you do not - and know that you do not - owe, then ask them to provide proof of the debt and if they can't or won't send them a bill for your time and then chase them for the payment.

I believe this is what is known as 'a taste of their own medicine'.

Of course, instead of spending money on a court claim you could put the debt with a debt collection agency who would work for a percentage of what they collect.

The more I think of it the more I like it :D
  • I've just received one of these letters - in respect of Tti Spc For Spl and PastDue Credit Solutions - and we've no idea what it's for. I've emailed them and waiting a response, will post back here if I do, but for the benefit of anyone else hassled by these people, it looks like a scam!
  • Think of it this way... if you owed the debt, the very least they would know about you is your name...

    Hi

The best course of action is to ignore these letters. As other posters have said, they are fishing trips.

Any threat of bailiffs are empty threats as to get bailiffs involved would mean they have been to court and you should certainly have been informed of this and would know that you owe this money.

If you can't sit tight, https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk have a very good template letter that you could send. It doesn't acknowledge the debt (like asking for a copy of the agreement would) but clearly points out its harrassment and what you will do if they persist.

A couple of years ago panorama or watchdog did an article about this and it was as a result of a pensioner committing suicide over such a letter for a debt he didn't owe. Its totally scandalous!

Hate to disagree but I disagree.

About 35 minutes ago, I had a letter directly addressed to me at my new address by "Past Due Credit Solutions" with the 0844 number listed to call.

Didn't recognise the company - it said please call and gave me times but I called and was on hold for a minute before I put the phone down.

Fired up my laptop, checked google and this thread on this forum was one of the links so I clicked and read up to page two.

I checked the website also and found the 0141 number someone mentioned on page two and got through almost immediately.

Turns out the debt they are writing me about is after I left the house with the debt against it - 2 years after I moved out. I laughed at the lady on the other side and asked why they were wasting my time - she offered to explain what they were up to but I said no thanks - I have no debts and have paid up, why should I pay further for a useless phone call!

Now, I suppose I should wait till she fails to input that they have the wrong person and I get another letter... :rotfl:

I recieved a letter from Pastdue Credit solutions, actually it's for my mother who does not actually live with us ! Saying they are acting on behalf of TTI SPC for SP1 asking for an amount of money as a FORMAL DEMAND in bold red letters, or they will send one of their agents around.... this is very worrying as firstly my mother does not owe any money and secondly there is a worry that this may damage our credit rating on our address...what do we do? The letter is vague and i have emailed them to say she does not live with us.

It won't damage your credit rating which is based on an individual and not an address.

Don't give them ANY information. They're fishing.

Who is 'TTI SPC for SP1' anyway?
