I do owe BG as I had hassle trying to get them to send me an invoice that was to the residential address and not as a business address. I called on 6 occasions and told it would change, to no avail (I then changed suppliers anyway) they said it wouldn't matter whether it was business or residential as the charge would be the same. Is this true? Am I wasting my time in getting a new invoice? or should I ignore it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, please.
Thanks for your time.....
Do you mean they were billing you as a business customer not as a residential customer? If you managed to then change supplier successfully then you did well!
On average business prices are actually cheaper than residential in my experience. However a residential property should have VAT charged at 5% not 17.5% or any other rate and you should not be paying any levies like climate change levy.
I would ask to see a copy of the invoice in question. If the VAT rate is correct, I would just pay it as it is. If it's wrong, I'd ask for a reduction down to the correct VAT rate and then agree to pay that.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Hi Annie
Yes, they were definitely billing me as a business!! the only thing I worry about is that as another person has posted already if you contact BG they will no longer have your details as its such an old account....
I did give them a lot of grief (perhaps that was why they let me change - perhaps it was because it was down as a business!!!) as I was getting rather upset that even after spending all that time with them on the phone (and you can never seem to get the same person to speak to again), they still didn't change it!
Thanks so much for your help0 -
I have just received an official looking letter from Direct Recovery Solutions re 'my gas supply with British Gas' It intimates that I will receive a visit from a representative if I do not reply (on the 0844 number). I am not, and never have been with British Gas and although the address on the letter is mine the name is certainly not. It loks like Direct Recovery solutions have found anice little earner and no one seems able to stop them. :mad:0

There was an article in a Plymouth paper about this lot:
http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/news/BILLED-NONEXISTENT-GAS-SUPPLY/article-749123-detail/article.html
There are plenty of options regarding who to take this to - I would alert as many of the following as you can
British Gas
Trading Standards/Consumer Direct
Office of Fair Trading
CAB - they frequently compile reports that go to central government
your mp
As it's a 'trading style' of complete credit management and their trade body is the credit services association, you should alert csa too.
The csa listing is:
Complete Credit Management Ltd
Rural Enterprise Park
Stafford Drive
Battlefield Enterprise Park
Shrewsbury

I too have received the letter from Direct Recovery Solutions... looking for information from before my time at this address. Surprised to see it still going, but grateful for the forum !0

I too got one of these this morning. "on behalf of our client E-ON in order to verify the account details they hold"
Thanks for the info above...will be contacting ofcom!0 -
Yet another one, addressed to 'the occupier' and relating to the gas supply 'on behalf of our client TTISPC for SP!@, whatever that's supposed to mean. The date they want to enquire from worries me - it's the date I purchased this house. Co-incidence? If not, how did they get that information? Inwill contact British Gas and Ofwat, fo course. Isn't it time this was stopped? Can't their phone line be disconnected?0

A friend got a letter demanding a payment from pastduecredit.
No information other than instructions from TTI SPC for SP1
I have emailed them:
You have sent a letter to xxx. stating your demand is from TTI SPC for SP1
xxx does not have any debts.
Such a statement is not a legal authority to collect a debt.
You need to identify who TTI SPC and SP1 are in such a manner that there existence can be legally verified.
As I am sure you are aware, you need to provide details of the original unpaid bill sufficient for it to be fully identified.
You also need to provide a copy of the deed of assignment that transferred that outstanding payment to SP1.
You also need to provide a copy of the deed of assignment that tranferred that authority from SP1 to you.
Failing that full disclosure of information I am advising that this letter is a scam, and will be reporting this letter to a number of official bodies.
end of email.
I am sure than many people when they receive such a threatening letter simply pay up even if they don't think they owe any money. A very lucrative scam.
If I do get any further information I will update this report. Assume a scam if no further details from me.0 -
we have had a letter from these guys asking for a debt to be paid which is due to TTI SPC. I have contacted trading standards, the office of fair trading and citizens advice as this debt is not ours and this comapny have been anything but professional in their dealings with me. They will not provide proof of the debt and have informed me that it is my job to prove that i don't owe the money - thanks to the above companies i now know that PDCS are at fault and am dealing with them through trading standards, OFT, and registered post for any correspondence. If anyone else is still having trouble with these jokers contact T.S or OFT. As like the posting above our supposed debt is for £66 from the day we moved into the property for the supply of electricity for 1 month. A complete scam - don't deal with them directly on the phone as they are totally at it.0

I received a similar letter from Direct Recovery Solutions last week requesting I call an 0844 number on behalf of E.ON relating to a query regarding my property on a date before I owned it.
I don't want to call the number, but I am tempted to write to them anonymously to inform them I didn't own the house then and I have no forwarding address for the previous occupiers. Is that likely to put them off, or am I best just ignoring it completely like most on here have?0
