Obviously with your blood sugar so low you would have been producing more ketones and the cats must have smelt this on your breath and realised it wasn't right! What a reward for rescuing them!!
Best keep the bedroom door open so they can keep an eye on you in the future.

I agree that my body chemistry changes would have been what alerted them, maybe it triggered the "breakfast time" alarm in them, I don't know, I'm just grateful that they woke me.
I hadn't thought about getting publicity for them, I'll have a think about that. Yesterday was a time of nice tasty bits of chicken, tuna and some of their other favorite treats and games. Interestingly, their bonding has obviously been accelerated by this, lots more nose to nose touching and a few ear licks going on (for now  )
Oh, and Yogi did what he always does when someone has been ill. He brought me home a nice fresh mouse, bless :A
UKTigerlily, what did your cat do to win 6 months food supply? Nice one :TMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

SnowyOwl wrote:I have an acquaintance who was also saved by her cat. Her cat decided to lick and lick and lick at her face in one particular area, until eventually blood was drawn. She went to the doctor and it transpired that she had a skin tumour in that very area. It wasn't visible or palpable so she'd never have known there was a problem until it was many times worse, except for the cat's actions.
My thoughts keep returning to this SnowyOwl. What an amazing act of love. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
We humans think we know so much, when the truth is we know next to nothing and have everything to learn from our fellow inhabitants of this planet, no matter what their species. My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I've got a couple of lifelong illnesses, physical & mental & told them how she's changed my life for the better etc, she also got star letter in Your Cat mag, well her & her Brother! If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here now, they're such special animals aren't they!0 -
