But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Hi Sophies mum, I'm glad it's not just me that's up early on a Saturday.:mad:
Over the weekend, I'm going to do the following:
- Dismantle the spare bed and take it to the skip - it's past its sell by date!
- Take the books back to the library and possibly get some more out.
- have a store cupboard tea.:D
- tidy the apartment and sort out any carp for a car boot sale.
- Clean the cooker with stardrops.
- Make lots of cakes :cool:
- Tackle the rather large pile of washing up. I'm convinced there's a pesky fairy who collects the dirty dishes from other houses and puts it in my sink:rotfl:
- Keep smiling and try not to think too ,much about the oh medical review board on monday. easier said than done!!
Big hugs,
Cx

I'm off to the movies today so will be £6 down as I'm off to see 'The Damned United'
Will watch both football matches today on Setanta;
Have got a Glass's Price Guide for my car today from a friend who's a dealer (cars not drugs!) which shows a car like mine in a below average condition to still be worth £1200 more than the dealership I was trying to trade it in too (and mine is in an excellent condition if I do say so myself!);
Will have a look in HMV today to see if there's anything I fancy spending my £10 voucher on...............
Transferred £3,000 from my current account to my ISA (it was my year's bonus money) - now I have to decide what I'm doing with it and when!
(The car thing is that I have an 8 yr old car with 83,000m on the clock. My Mum wants a new car and she's got a price for trading in her car against a new one, but given that her car is 4 yrs old with only 16,000 miles on it, I've said that I would pay the difference between her trading in mine for the new car and what hers would ahve been worth - I get a great more fuel efficient car that I have known from new, and she gets the new car she wants and doesn't lose out financially, and I get rid of the of 83,000 mile rapidly depreciating asset. The dealership offered her £4K for hers and £1,500 for mine which is quite a bit less than Parkers and Glass Price Guide suggest, so she's spending the day shopping around and I'm off to the pictures! Ha ha!!! Taking her car will save me £10 a month in insurance, and I'd be £100 a year better off in road tax, and about £40 a month better off in petrol. Hopefully there's a dealer out there willing to go closer to what the price guides suggest mine is worth)Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Using cash for my shop to keep me right
Made random curry last night - cauliflower, 1/4 jar old peanut butter, tin of potatoes, old hm curry sauce in the freezer - what I then thought was spinich from last years final garden stuff - was actually coriander (must remember to sow some before I go) so the curry was lovely as I shoved in a whole bag of the not spinich - :rotfl:
Moved freezer around and fridge looks pretty bare at the mo! Hope you are all good away for a mooch down town with the hounds and the daughter - charity shop, possibly butcher for bones (dogs) and a local chookie (expensive but nice) and it will turn into 'rubber chicken' - need to redo my hair etc and have an MOT before OH turns up lol:DTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:

PS lovely sock action on here today so far
Mine at the moment are stripey with little peedie doggies on - but need a shower and will probably indulge in some kind of nonsensical sock wearing to spurn me on have lots of work to do.
PS SM one lazy tray of peppers up - long red ones sweet kind you see in lidls - but my mixed chilli's are just sulking - they know they are my favourite......goodluck with the courgettes - i read somewhere about putting courgettes in bigish pots and then in a tray with two newspapers deep underneath them like carpet underlay - if that makes sense - then when you water them they never dry out or something similar - I guess like capillary matting but recycled......Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there. :beer:

Good morning all!
Miserable grey day here, but its Saturday, which means its 8.30 & I'm still in my jammies!! Woo hooo! :j
Today:
- Check online banking (DH paid today so moving all his money around
)
- Ironing (done some already - how sad it that)
- Pack up stuff to send to Music Magpie
- do 10 comps on the comp thread
- Try & get some stuff together to list on ebay
When I was clearing out the wardrobe in the week, came across DD's bridesmaid dresses, so put them in the cleaners for £10, will collect today & list on ebay for hopefully min £10 each. As I never paid for them in the first place, then that should be a little bit of profit!
Over to mums later, she gets the Daily Telegraph on a saturday, & apparently there is a voucher for a free easter egg from Toys r us in it - so hopefully I will liberate that!
Sophiesmum - grrrr @ lamimitis!! Hope its not too serious and clears up quickly. My mums friend has a shetland who is prone to it, but he gets over it relatively quickly. I dont know what he is treated with - but his owner is a vet, so very helpful!!
Still no sign of pepper seeds popping up yet, though tomatoes and lettuce are going for it big time!
Have a great day everyone xx0 -
Fay - I need to go for a lie down after reading your list!!! :rotfl:
I've probably missed this along the way - but who or what is Darwin?
