Oooh how exciting, yay for you Jesa! Sounds like it will be a beautiful place to get married, and even better if it means something to you/your family :D I'm getting married next year, so would also be v.interested in budget wedding tips! We are really splashing out on our venue too and also photographer (an eye-watering amount actually, makes me feel a bit sick when I think about it!) - BUT everything else will be very MSE, e.g. father in law is driving us in his own classic car so we don't have to hire one, making our own favours, friend making the cake, bridesmaid dresses from Ebay etc!

I haven't really put much thought into the other things like photographer and entertainment yet - hoping to not spend much though

    My plans for saving £:
    • Vintage dress for me
    • One bridesmaid (my niece) with nice cheap non flouncy dress from a normal shop, a little floral tea dress or something like that as its very "me"
    • Normal black suits - no top hats, tails, cravats or waistcoats as me and OH don't like any of those things
    • Mum can make the cake
    • If I can pursuade the venue I want to provide the drinks as that will save me £1300!
    • No fancy cars, anything will do
    • Very minimal flowers
Someone I know got married last weekend and spent £1k on flowers:eek: thats just daft! They only spent £130 on their honeymoon - wrong way round

How lovely Jesa! I do genealogy so something like that would really interest me too! I'm really chuffed for you!
Will list said motor tonight (as soon as I find my new camera cable lol!)!
I did receive £4 of Nivea vouchers this morning which I will use to buy something for my Xmas box (I do hampers so will add the £4 to my total).
    MSE-ing since 2007

We got married last June. One MSE thing we did was to do our own flowers and decorated the venue ourselves. I grew loads and loads of sweet peas from seed (and a few bought as plug plants too.. just in case!). I hand tied a bunch together with some ribbon and that was my bouquet. It looked really pretty, and very me. I saved loads of jam jars and bought vases in charity shops, then covered the windows sills and tables with these filled with more sweet peas, and other flowers/grasses cut from my garden and the hedgerows. It looked gorgeous!

We made biscuits iced with each persons name as combined place markers and favours - each one in a plain cellophane bag tied with curling ribbon. We also put a note on each table telling guests to take a vase or too as a reminder of the day.

That sounds perfect ruthie - I adore sweet peas and they remind me so much of my late nanna whose ancestors it was that worked in the Manor House. I will have to do something like this.
Here is a pic of the house - I am sooooo exited :)

I have been playing on those no deposit bingo games, e.g mirror bingo, wink bingo,88laides,weluv bingo. all no deposit. So basically you play on a free bonus and if you win you deposit a fiver, but then withdraw it again with your winnings. And this will clear in your account in 3-4 days.i have done it over the last two months and been so lucky and won around 500 pounds and for free ,no cost to me. Alot of people will win at least 30 quid. But remember to withdraw winnings and DONT gamble. And free money is yours!!

Are these the ones that were around this time last year? Could anyone point me in the direction of the list/post about this offer if there is one. Thanks x
