I moderate on another forum and we have been on VB 3.8.1 for some time now. There seems to be a new version coming soon and we are having to upgrade our server software from Red Hat Enterprise Server 4 to Enterprise Server 5. This will include PHP/MySQL 5. We expect to be offline betwen 4-5 hours.
I remember the last time MSE upgraded it's VB it took quite some time, I guess they test extensively on server before going back live. We use a test forum to trial new software before going live.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
I am going to have to explore that strange room downstairs, with the big 'screen' in the corner and three 'people' that I used to know.
Anyone know where I can get a crash course in regaining the use of my voice?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

You couldn't have timed this better. I am having problems with the internet going down, and they can't get anyone out until Monday, and I had booked a weekend away that I won from the competitions forum late last year.0

Can we have this? PLEASE.
(probably hoping for too much...)
Brilliant post Fermi. Can we also have a one IP address, one username rule to stop idiots logging on with multiple usernames and disrupting/trolling the forums?
At the very least, can you display the person's IP address (jumbled in some way) in the post so we can see if two or more posters have the same IP address?Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)
