I'll add my voice to the chorus of "I love the Everyday Mineral makeup samples". I've ordered samples from the company several times and have always been impressed with the quality and quantity of samples offered as well as the promptness with which the samples are delivered.
I've just ordered some regular-sized pots so fingers crossed I don't get hit with whacking great customs charges...0 -
hi all , just ordered mine for £2.96 postage ( $4.95 ) checked yesterday and the same postage was a whopping $ 8.95 , but yesterday i was gonna order that little brush thing at $4.00 and the total came to $12.95 , logged in today , was just gonna order the samples for now as i can get the brush with the next loads of sample  and the postage at checkout was 4 dollars cheaper ....just puzzles me , is that because i ordered more or just the luck on the day0

well i've ordered some samples as everyone seems to rave about them.
i don't wear make up at all and i have never got the hang of foundation - when i have tried it just makes the open pores on my nose look worse. The most i do on special occasions is brush loose powder on so i had hoped that these would be as easy but with better results.
Since ordering i've looked into mmu a bit more and it has terrified me! polishing?! settling in time?! special brushes?!
Help!
How do i use the samples? And do i really need to buy new brushes - can't i use my old loose powder and blusher brush?
and if i really do what cheap brush would be good enough as I gather that the cheap ones can be awful to use. (I quite like the look of those stubby ones.)
I'm glad to be giving it a go but i'm worried i'm going to turn into Coco the ClownMy name is Paula and I am a low carber1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg

by the way the rules for import vat and duty say
no duty if the total duty payable is less than £7. The duty is calculated on the total paid plus P&P (looks like 0% on make up, 3.7% on brushes)
no vat if the total paid including P&P and import duty is less than £18.
If you do get caught (but i never have been) then you have to pay royal mail/dhl/whoever an admin fee on top of the vat/duty, but the amount varies. £9 i think for the post office.

Give yourself a couple of days while you're waiting for your samples and plough thru this thread:

Get a decent powder foundation brush - you can "push away" with your existing brushes for blusher, eye shadow, etc, but you need a decent foundation brush with soft, dense "bristles".
This is an eBay search for a UK-only "kabuki" brush. Check the feedback of sellers, I like to look for "great brush" kinda thing. Bare Escentuals is adequate, sorry but I can't recommend mine because it's no longer available, as I discovered to my embarrassment when I last invited people to come to me for pointersSo I'm not up-to-date on the unbranded ones.

When you get your samples (don't be dismayed how small they look) tap a tiny amount into a small receptacle that you can swirl your brush in and then swirl the brush around in the dust, tap off the excess, and sweep it all over your phiz, willy-nilly. Like that, no messin'. Give it a good buffing with the brush. Leave it for a while and have a look at yourself and if you haven't got sufficient coverage, do it again. Don't worry about it.
If you have "difficult" skin you will probably be willing to try different brands of MMU if the first you try doesn't suit - and they all have different proportions of mainly the same ingredients, they go on differently, so some suit and some don't. Don't be discouraged.
I've been interrupted doing this post so don't know where I am and can't stop any longer now - hope it's of some assistance/reassurance

Just to add to Veronarona's excellently helpful postI'd squeek to say if you have 'difficult skin' (like my disaster zone of a so called complexion) moisturising a good 5 -10 mins before applying the make up can make a world of difference. If you do it too soon to putting the make up on it can go all 'pore-y', if you don't put any on at all it can look a little bit too dry and powdery - just for a FYI I have really bad oily skin with open pores and acne, so use a moisturiser that is oil free, but it makes such a diffference and looks a billion times better.
Have lots of fun, and keep ploughing through the samples in different colours/formulations until you find the one or blend of different types/colours that suit you. It's worth it when you do(OK, I'll admit, I'm a bit of a converted fan now, but hey! It makes me look like a human not a nasty red faced crusty thing lol).
Do not feed the trolls please.0 -

Mine have taken anywhere between 1 week and 2 so I'd drop them a quick email to see if maybe despatch was delayed for some reason.0 -
