LLoyds TSB PPI

I was wondering if someone could give me some advice or tell me if they experianced the same scenario. I wrote a letter aroung 2 to 3 weeks ago in an attempt to claim back the LPI i got on a loan issued from LLoyds. Basically my grounds for re claiming were that i felt the LPI was missold, i took the loan out when i was 18 and to be honest got the impression i had to take it. Now i am a little wiser and would like to claim it back. Initially within a week i recieved a letter stating that they are looking into my situation and will get back, Yesterday i recieved a letter stating that they are still looking into the matter and will apologise for the delay but they want to fully invistigate and will be in contact within 4 weeks. Is this a common thing?

    Hi there,

Good luck with this, fingers crossed.;)

They have 8 weeks to respond in full in general, but if they do not respond within that timescale or given you a firm response then, you should be entitled to take this to the Financial ombudsman service, but okay they have write back to you and said they will get back within 4 weeks.
You could wait to see what their response is but when the 8 weeks are gone by you should have the choice to take this to the FOS.

Yes this can be LLoyds all over, hope you get a good outcome from this, please keep us posted.;)

We had the same responses as you hun, but was not so lucky with getting ours resolved through them, it was though through the FOS, but yet I believe this can mean a good thing too, because some I know can still receive the same sort of feedback and be lucky.;)

    Hello,

I have recently sent off my letter to Lloyds too, sent at the very tail end of Feb, they have until the 25th April to respond to me before the 8 weeks is up,

i also recieved the "we are looking into it" type letter, but at the end of the 8 weeks i will be sending them the 2nd letter (only send no.1 so far) and giving them time to respond before writing to the FO.
    Any News on yours yet?

  • In total i have had 2 letter one saying they were initially looking into it and another saying they would reply in 4 weeks, coincidently though the 4 weeks is the end of the 8 week deadline so i think they are spinning it out as much as they can, but fingers crossed

    me too..
they stretch the deadlines almost to the day, but my experience was that they did get back to me..
they still lost though (when i took it to the FOS)..and i've had back £2,500 + 8% interest + £200 compensation..

hang in there, if you've a good case, it's worth it.
