LLoyds TSB PPI

Lloyds TSB totally rejected our very valid PPI claim (lots of the usual letters etc), we then continued with the Financial Ombudsman who found in our favour, Lloyds TSB were instructed to pay us back £5,860.00 due to gross mis selling which included a £200 goodwill gesture. We received a cheque for that amount promptly this week.
lt is a lengthy process but please do go with the FOS if you are treated badly by these banks, it really did work for us, they were very good l would certainly recommend the FOS.

Thanks for that Slogger, it really spurs us on to hear these things0

You will get a letter from the Bank rejecting your claim, this is when you take it to the FOS, it is an easy process, dont be daunted by it, go for it, l did and won, the FOS were great,0

lf they have advised you to go to the FOS, as they did me, this the the time to take it to the FOS, and deal with them now not the Bank.
l did and as l mentioned it worked, it does take time though as they are inundated with claims, but they were very good, have patience.0 -
Got back last night (been away on business)
To a letter with the "we havent yet been able to finish looking into your complaint" blah blah blah.
so sent them the 14 day letter,
have also written the FOS letter and complaint for and will be sending it off too (may as well start now)
i have met the 8 week rule for the FOS and if Lloyds reply with a payout i will cancel my complaint with the FOS.
how long did it take you to go through the FOS? can i be fast tracked as i am due to be made homeless? (not losing job just being made homless and cant really afford anywhere else to live except back with family until all this is sorted)Awaiting PPI - Lloyds TSB LoanDebt Free Date: [STRIKE]30/10/09 02/10/09 07/08/09 [/STRIKE] 10/07/090 -

Hi there
You do really need to let the FOS know at first instance about this, any letters about losing your home, get them copied and straight in, they should certainly deal with this on fast track, just make sure you send any correspondence in relation to this matter, good luck and post up for help when needed.;)
As you may have read by now the FOS can take some time, but with a priority like the situation your in, they should defo consider moving your case on far quicker for you. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi,
I am also trying to claim back PPI taken out with a loan which I had through Lloyds TSB and received the standard letter to say I should receive a response no later than the 24/04/2009.
I received a letter from them last week. However, it says that they are currently unable to resolve my issue and therefore pointed out I am now entitled to go to the FOS. They have said that they shall continue to investigate my case and will be in contact shortly but have left this open ended with no timeline so I am clueless as to when they will actually get back to me.
Has anyone else had this with Lloyds recently, and what should I do. Shall i go to the FOS now or wait another few weeks to give them a little more time before going to the FOS...
I'm so confused and frustrated as was expecting an answer one way or another. at least if i hadn't got the answer i wanted i would know what steps to take next to pursure them further...
Thanks
We had exactly the same letter a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't done anything further on it but today we had a letter accepting our claim offering a refund of all premiums paid plus associated interest plus interest at 8%
So there is hope! :T0 -

We have just had a letter from Lloyds TSB with a settlement figure of £5407
, it includes a £200 compensation and 8% interest.
They have to put you back in the position as if you had never taken the PPI out.
We originally sent the letter that we had been misold in April 2008, and Lloyds came back with the usual 'no' letter, saying that if the loan was still active we may have had a chance, then we sent the info to the FOS and they have acted on out behalf.
Then in Feb we had a letter from FOS saying that Lloyds had agreed to pay and we should leave 12 weeks before receiving the money.
The letter we have received from Lloyds yesterday says they will pay the amount into our Lloyds account in the next 21 days.
I know that 12 months is a long time and we never thought that it would take this long but persevere, it was definately worth it, so thank you Martin:money:x.0 -
