Afternoon all,
I'm whacked. I made a 9" plate pie with beef onion and mushrooms. Cooked mash, cauli, brussels and gravy. DH has taken 2 meals to DD2 & SiL2b. I've loads of strawbs so I'm looking for ideas. 8 loads of curry and rice portioned and in the freezer. I've got my cooking head on ATM, only because I've had enough of working on the stone walls.
Right then I'm off to look for a recipe for a layered meatloaf using minced beef, minced pork and leeks.
MUDGEKIN, Glad you're home, take care.
MUMMYSAVER, You take care aswell.
LADYMAY, So happy to hear it wasn't the news you were dreading.
JAYWARD, Hope you're soon feeling better.
SUNNYDAY, :hello:
WARM WELCOME TO BLUEBERRYPIE & NOTANOTHERGREYHAIR.0 -
Afternoon all
Weather here is so changeable -- sunny at the moment but have had strong winds and showers too
Ladymay so pleased to hear your good news.
Diva I have the same problems when having blood tests and frequently have to make second appointments to try again to draw blood. I am told that I have thin veins!!! (I knew there had to be something thin about me somewhere - just my luck that it is my veins!!!!):rotfl:
Ravylesley Manchester Tart is my all time favourite pud but I don't have a clue how to make it - don't suppose you could point me in the right direction could you please??
Notanothergreyhair welcome - you will like it here!
Wannabesybil if things carry on you are going to have to swop names with notanothergreyhair:rotfl: LB certainly keeps you on your toes!
Mudgekin sorry to hear of your back problems, take care of yourself!
Well have finished work for the day and tomorrow is my day off so I am finally going to try out my new bm - can't wait. Not entirely sure that it is rational for a grown woman to be so excited about a loaf of bread!!
Easy tea night tonight as all coming in at different times and going various places so OH is having a pizza (not HM I'm afraid but from freezer) DD is having lasagna (portion of HM from freezer) and I will get something or other later.
Have a good evening everyone.
((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need or want them

Weight loss since January 2011 - 5st 5 lbs!!!!!0 -
I am cream crackered, quite a bit more packed up, plus a walk for OH to get a breath of fresh air. Its been a funny day, quite bright, but windy and several very sharp showers, still hopefully I will not have to water the allotment when we next get there.
Cupboard under the sink is empty as is the one with my plastic containers in, I found the picnic stuff shoved at the back of the cupboard, so its now back in the bag where it should be.
I moved my 150 quilting books to get at the plug for the bedroom TV, then moved them all back again......... my machine is packed away but need some more boxes for the excess fabric and bits and bobs that are hanging about. I also need to put my mecanno head on and make up the trolly, me thinks we will need it on Tuesday, some of the boxes are not exactly light weight!!!
Finished for today, have sausages and mash for supper, found some beans I had frozen so they will go in with the red wine gravy....I made a very large apple, tayberry and gooseberry crumble yesterday, think it will do us for pudding till Friday!!!
Going to put my feet up now with a glass of plonk...........

Got DH and DD(23) off to work and dd(15)off to school and thought I would just take a cup of tea upstairs and read a few pages of my book.
I shut my eyes for a minute at 9am. and woke up at 12.45!
Loaded dishwasher and washing machine, cleaned gas hob and made pizza dough in BM.
Tea was two massive pizzas with peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese on top. Will save some for DD's lunch tomorrow.
I had intended to go to chemist but just felt "odd" and lightheaded so decided it was safer to stay home.
The "Apprentice" is on tonight so ill watch it wth my youngest and then have an early night.
Hugs to everyone especially Mudgekin and ladymay
See you all later"This site is addictive!"

I'd be delighted to tell you how to do it and believe me its easy peasy lemon squeezy. All you do is make a pre-baked pastry case or buy one from the supermarket then you make up a pint of birds custard. The kind that is made from the powder in the tin not the instant stuff.Whilst the custard is in the microwave cooking plonk a couple of tablespoons of red jam in the bottom of the cooled pastry case and when the custard is ready pour it on top. Then sprinkle the top with desiccated coconut and plonk a cherry in the middle.Leave it to cool in the fridge until totally cold and serve
You can use creme patisserie is you want to do it the posh way.I have done it that way but this way is quicker and tastes just as good.Give me a shout if you want the creme patisserie recipe and I'll post it

I slice a banana up and put it on the jam before putting the custard on top, delish0 -
