:hello: Good morning!
Chilly out there today so i'm glad we don't need to go far. I'm wearing thermal walking socks as my feet are freezing
DD2 DSIL and DGKs dropped in y'day. DSIL needed to go to the jobcentre to see what they might be entitled to once his pay runs out but as i'd thought, they were only able to give him a number to ring to make an appointment.
Both LOs had new shoes on - their Dad had taken them to Bluewater one day last week so that DD could sleep after a night shift, and DGD took off one of her dear little pink boots (purposely bought with Velcro fastenings to make things easier for the staff at the Nursery) and dropped it....He retraced his steps but no sign of it. It turned out her feet had grown anyway, so she now has a pair with bucklesand DGS has a pair with a picture of a digger on the straps, and a bit round the toes that looks like a tyre tread, so he really likes them even though they aren't pink
The sight that greeted me when I opened the kitchen curtains was 4 pairs of DH's pants still on the line, forgotten when i got the washing y'day afternoon. Oh well, at least they've had a thorough rinse after all the rain last night
Dinner tonight will be stew. I thought I'd try out the recipe from MOF, so I need to remember to get a bottle of ale or stout when we go to the local shops.
((((HUGS)))) to Ladymay, VickyA and your DM, halight, betheebee, MRSTITTLEMOUSE, PP, Smoky, MSDiva and everyone i've missed who needs some.
Welcome to our new posters :hello:
All for now as I keep hitting the wrong keys today
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind me dropping into the daily chat. I usually post over in DFW but I do lurk on here lots of the time too.
I managed to persuade the BF to let me turn some of the garden into a vegetable patch, so I'm going to be doing a spot of planning on that today. Also, I'm going to have a spanish omelette tonight for supper, having just noticed moneysavingdiva's mention of them...I haven't had one for ages.
All the best,

Morning everyone!
Hope you're all having a good day so far?
It's a showery day here and colder than it's been. Had to have the heating on last nightSlept better than the night before though, so felt brand new this morning!
Got a busy day ahead at work and then this evening have to pack a bag for the next couple of nights, as we're going to the mainland for a couple of days
DH is going to rugby tonight, so it'll be pasta for tea.
Have a good day and hugs to everyone.0 -
Morning every1
Thanks for all the thoughts and hugs etc regarding my post yesterday. Life goes on and all that.
DH decided to sow 4 cucumber seeds, some chilli and some pepper seeds last night in the greenhouse. So we now have 700+ leeks showing through, sprouts showing through, cabbages not quite showing through. We have an allotment so these will eventually all end up on there. What we don't eat we plan to sell on to friends and family...our dream business would be a fruit and veg shop. I just have to get him into sowing a few every 3 or 4 weeks as he likes to sow everything in one go!
I attempted to upgrade the RAM in our pc last night and got it all working fine, except this morning i switched it on and now nothing happens! Oh well back to the drawing board. Will check out a few things at lunchtime when I pop home and then give it a throrough going over this evening. ITs probably something really silly.
Well another day at work today, I put a line of washing out before work and so far we've had the odd shower and sunshine sohoping it will have dried a little. Weather here is much the same as elsewhere..ie sunny, damp, blowy and brrrrrrr!!

Ladymay - hope everything went ok at the docs. My best friend had a lump appear last year (she's 35) and paniced like you would, fortunately it turned out to be a cyst. so I'm sure yours will be fine. Hugs all the same tho.Banana LoversBuy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Morning all,
Still very dismal here about loss of dog....DD is blaming herself and not talking to anyone beyond necessity...will leave her alone, she always does that when upset.
Been to B&Q this morning for enough reduced insulation stuff to do the downstairs bedroom and mine....very cheap and I have a card which gives me 10% off as well. Only problem is that I could only take half of the rolls so have to go back in a minute...OH in day hospital so taking advantage of his absence to stock up!
Not sure what we will have for dinner... might do some spaghetti with mushroom and salami, last stick of salami I got in Lidl seems exceptionally tasty...650g for around €5 if just used for pasta would make at least 24 portions I reckon so good value
Very windy here to-day, sunny too but we are due some rain I think so will use airers for clothes.
Hugs to all in need or want, especially those seeing doctor for any reason

Hiya,
Just got back from the doctors - it is a lymph node and it is swollen, and I've got to keep an eye on it, but it should be fine. Sounds silly, but I'm so relieved I feel a bit emotional! Thank you all sooooooooooooo much for the support, you've been wonderful.
Turns out I don't have to go to class today so I'm going to head to the library for a few hours and work on my research proposal.
Thanks again, (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) to anybody who needs one

Ladymay - so glad that you have had a chat with the GP. My glands swell up when I am run down, and I have seen your schedule! So my none medical, dippy old bat recommendation is that you do some pampering and stock up on looking after yourself. Romance boosts the immune system
Man with Van from Sainsburys has been. Now, I use Sainsbury own brand for little bear during the day, and Huggies overnight - and am really fed up that I am not still using cloth nappies but I could never stop them leaking and the cut of little bear's jeans would not allow them now which is another . For the fourth week running, I have failed to receive the Huggies. So I buy them (not often at one per night and one per day out) at the corner shop and it is not much more and I am supporting local business but  It is not as if the Huggies are on sale! It's not really  but it is a niggle.
Actually I am pretty lucky that that is all I am niggling about.
