Off to get the sticky................
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 25 March 2009. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning All
Had a really early night last night so up early this morning - I really needed it and am feeling a little more human, have antibiotics to take now for kidney infection so hopefully will start feeling a bit more energetic today.
In office this morning just doing the necessary & ignoring the piles of paperwork then will hit the ironing which has been ignored for some time. Need to pop out to big town later to get a birthday present for a friend, her OH is arranging a surprise drink tonight. Will only be popping in as its a school night.
Yesterday went with OH to get a new tyre and popped into M&S, thanks to who it was who mentioned the half price mothers day food - picked up 4 Oakham chickens so am very pleased with that bargain.
Still havnt menu planned - hopefully will get that done today.
Glad Martin has remined me about the clocks going forward, knew it was soon!!
Anyway off to do my free scratchcard, have a great day.x

Morning EssexGirl & all to follow
Blue sky outside the window - but it's a chilly breeze!!! A good day for washing as my nan would have said...
This time yesterday morning I was at the gym:eek: Figured I might as well do something constructive when I'm wide awake & feeling most energetic. I'd like to do alternate days for now... I really started the day on a high too, just gotta cut out all the "no good for me" food....
Work all day, have some carrot & coriander soup to take for lunch & some lovely sunflower & pumpkin seed breadSupper will be pasta carbonara today.
EssexG - hope your antibiotics start working soon.
LadyMay, hope you get to the doctor's today - I had a lump a few months ago which was an infected cyst/spot, although it didn't initially go with antibiotics after about 6 weeks it slowly disappeared....
VickyA, sounds like your mum has a positive frame of mind - well done her.
MSD - hope you're doing ok hon.
(((((hugs))))) to everyone else who needs or wants one. Must go & have a look at yesterday's thread for a quick catch-up as I have brain freeze as to what's going on at the moment.....
Have a good day all!!
Edit to say - wow, Richard Armitage (phwoar....) on GMTV shortly & Spandau Ballet to reform - woo-hoo!!!!!!!!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning all,
Nice day again here, bright but cold, although we are to expect rain for the rest of the week, so better make the most of it  DD and I overslept this morning, only 10 mins, but enought to put the morning out, I hate that.
Off to work today, so it will be A S + S before I go, rubbish and recycling are to go out.
Ladymay, good luck at the Dr, big hugs xx
Smoky, hope you are ok, have not 'seen' you for a while.
Squiggly well done on going to the gym :T keep it up xx
Essex girl, hope you feel better soon xx
Well better get on, have good days all xx0 -
LadyMay - as other said yesterday, you need to either go to the Dr's & demand an appointment or ring first thing & tell them it is an emergency (if needs be tell them you have found a breast lump). Then try not to worry unril you have been to the hospital. You may well have an ultrasound scan (unlikely to be mammogram at your age but they may do one). Also tell the GP and the hospital Dr about any family history, especially of any lymph gland problems.
Let us know how you get on....:grouphug:

Thank you so muc for the support yesterday - I'm feeling much more rational about it today, got to ring the doctors at 8am to book an appointment.
at work again this morning - doing an evil split of 6.45-10 and 6-10 this evening - not great but need the money
other plans for today - sort out room (how does it manage to get messy everyday?:o ), soak some beans for a sausage stew tomorrow, meet a friend for a cup of tea, go to class, sort out my ALF (Access to Learning fund)application, get some work done on my research proposal, and to cheer myself up I'm going to do a bit of planning for mine and my friend's birthday bash. I'm lucky enough to share my birthday with one of my best friends so we're having a burlesque party on the 4th - verry excited!!:T
No word on the romance front, but I'm seeing him tomorrow in a play, and I think we're going to the same audition for another show tomorrw as well - I'll keep you posted
Thanks again everyone,

Morning all,
Very wet, windy & cold here so no chance of getting any washing pegged out  Not got much on today - some cleaning & tidying, grocery shopping & a bit of ironing so hoping for an hour or so to do some sewing this afternoon. Lunch will be a sandwich & soup and dinner is something with chicken breasts. It was going to be sweet & sour but I fancy a change maybe barbeque? I'll think about it later when I'm flying round Asda

Sorted out DS's toys in front room yesterday, he was really impressed he found all his power ranger figures - had lots of fun listening to him 'fighting' with them :rotfl: He now has one container for all his cars and one for his action figues.... still missing a few jigsaw pieces though so need to hunt for those today!
Lunch today is HM pea and ham soup with crusty bread and tea is chicken stir fry
Anyways, better go get started, (((hugs))) to all who need em, have a good day all

Morning all................(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one....
Well its bright but quite windy this morning, the tree across the road is swaying in the wind.
More of the same today, packing that is, I got boxes and crates down from the loft yesterday, last of the china and kitchen cups and saucers plus baking tins, will keep one out to make scones.....plus all the stuff from under the sink apart from my stardrops and bleach spray and washing up liquid. Did a delicates wash yesterday so will not need that again until we get into the house. If I have enough room will also pack the plastic stuff from the cupboards, maybe will out some more, I did have a clear out at the end of last year, but have not used any of the stuff since so it can go.........
OH is still asleep, he was in bed for quite a long time yesterday. I think it was testing the beds and then the stairs that did for him, but I could not buy a new bed without him trying it.
Second mug of coffee is calling................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning peeps
I`ve not been around for a few days so i hope that i`ve not missed too much. I shall try and catch up later when i get a chance.
Not much has been happening around here other than a mad rush most days trying to get the housework and cooking done before going to w*rk , the garden has been taking up any remaining time so i have been grateful to fall into bed for the last few nights.
Today is my day off so i shall drag myself into the kitchen shortly and empty the wm and dw, Mr Sunny has already taken the loaf out of the breadmaker so it should be cool enough to use by now.
Very windy outside today, it looks a bit scary when i look out of the window. The greenhouse window is normally open by now but i`ve not been down the garden yet. I think that i shall need to keep an eye on it when i do open it.
Lots to do and vsitors later so i`d best get on and tidy up.
Have a good day everyone.
Catch up later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0
