Cat was happy, she loves cod and I always save her some! So tonight I am hoping to have the spanish omlette though I have a tub of feta cheese to use up so I better start researching recipes to use it in rather than waste it. It was out of date on Monday!
Very fast and delicious pasta recipe - also fairly cheap, so it can count as the OS component for this post (my first ever post on a daily thread!)
Heat some oil and throw a little bit of crushed garlic in, let it simmer for a minute or two. Then toss in a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes (drain a bit if they're watery) along with a bit of basil, oregano - whatever you've got that's suitable. Put some pasta on to boil (I always use penne with this recipe but you could use macaroni or something instead). Simmer the tomato sauce for 10ish minutes; meanwhile put the feta in a bowl and crumble it (just use a fork). Drain the pasta and add the pasta and sauce together in a big pot or bowl, then toss in the crumbled feta.Well the nurse was here at 0815 promptly and failed to take any blood from me. I told her that at the hospital they use the back of my hand but just like the last district nurse she thought she knew better so I have two punctures in each of my arms and then when she finally tried the back of my hand I think my veins had gone into hiding cos she couldn't get any out from there either! So they are sending the plebotomist up from the surgery in the next day or two.
I always have problems giving blood too - my veins collapse really easily. The only person who ever got blood from me first go was a phlebotomist who usually worked with cancer patients; she told me to always tell them to use a baby-sized needle - it does take a bit longer for the blood to flow through, but the vein is less likely to collapse. I've had a few doubtful looks when I've told a nurse/dr/phleb this, but in the end they always come around to it LOL0 -
I thought little bear was playing nicely and drifting off to sleep. He had a play with his cars, lots of crashing (normal) some sounds of pages turning and then blessed sleep.
Actually he has pulled the curtain rail down. I have no idea where to start - he has pulled out the rawl plugs and chunks of plaster as well. It is horribly positioned - the glass is only about an inch from the ceiling and the pole had been sort of slotted along the top of the glass and not the window.
So I am going to get curtain track, not a pole as if he repeats it is lighter and less likely to hurt him if he is in the path, and just see what I can manage.
I could cry. But at least he is safe.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

hello again friends, like a bad penny I am back :j :j :j
Firstly I want to thank all of you for the warm wishes for my birthday, DH told me and I was extremely touched.
Secondly I want to thank those that have left me PMs and those that have tried and had them bounced cause my box is full. I shall try and get them answered as soon as I can
I have had a rather unexpected sojourn in hospital after falling and injuring my back rather severely and ended up in traction. Traction doesn't make for a happy tranquil mudgekin  Nor does hospital beds and food, as a nurse I can say these things:p
I got home yesterday and have been confined to bed mainly as sitting is out. I have stole a few mins at the PC while DH has popped out for a prescription. It will be a blessing that he is at home really so I suppose that is one goopd thing to come out of his redundancy.
I think between him and DM that OS has gone out of the window. I dread to think how much they will have been spending
Anyhow ((((Hugs hugs hugs to you all))) and I shall try steal a few moments each day to pop in.
Phew, getting back here confirmed I am home :j :j :j

I need to stop spending! I know I should post on the DFW board to help me stop - I have just bought four cushions. Now, the current cushions are getting to the state where evil cat rejects them, and the four cushions were only £8 total, but it was a want, not a need, and I need to stop!
Little bear was okay about going out for a walk, but he kept just sitting down. I suspect it was a case of - mother, take me home, but I forced him, the poor child, to walk for yards and yards. I thought fresh air would do us both good.
Mudgekin - sooo good to see you and so sorry to hear of your injury. So some very very gentle and milky bar sticky hugs on there way from little bear. I think nurses have a tough time of it in hospitals because they know how things should be, and they can't rest in blissful ignorance like the rest of us!
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Pass the nails.
Taking a five minute sanity break. Little bear doesn't want to do anything, but does want to do everything  I am confident all mums have been here. I have left him snacking on cherry tomatoes and it sounds like they are keeping him quiet. I shall keep an eye on this, but calling in on the doctor tomorrow is looking more and more likely.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
