I have made enquiries with the solicitors registration authority they have confirmed Graham White Solicitors ceased trading in November 2005 and are not viable and I believe cannot request money from anyone as they are not solicitors and roxburgh by using their name are I believe are breaking the law I will be making further enquiries with the FSA regarding this and trading standards to ask them to investigate any requests for money and or their practices I ask all of you do the same!!

    Some confusion here methinks.

There is / was a genuine firm of Solicitors called Graham White.

Roxburgh employ the services of one Michael Sobell who is a solicitor who chooses to use Graham White as his trading name.

I don't believe Sobell is breaking any laws by having the trading name "Graham White" and as such he and his client Roxburgh are perfectly entitled to use it when issuing their requests for payment.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I believe you are wasting your time on this.

If I see this thread bumped again by a newbie I will scream! Same goes for the 'Parking Eye - Dirty tricks' thread.

Whatever happened to starting a new thread?

Or - dare I say - reading the sticky threads first and just learning it's a scam?

Oops a daisy (stupid name btw) Who do you think you are? The oracle of this forum? What business is it of yours what people do with their time? You just sit idle and continously wait in desperate anticipation that someone replies to a thread. And bingo - your ready to pounce with your negative and teenage quips. Look at the amount of posts you have made! How on earth can someone live like that. You are in serious need of going outside from time to time. Its quite a problem you have. Get a life or see someone you cyber-space-creep! (watch how this message gets reported -because you go and cry in your dark room with no friends)

I wouldn't dream of reporting such an entertaining post. It's nice to see someone prepared to stand up say what they think, even though I may disagree a tad with it.

  • Has anything been done about this company yet?

i recently received a fine from parking eye, as i was away over christmas i didnt receive it until late in january. By this time they had sent me a final notice to pay £120. As i hadnt had chance to pay the first initial fine of £60 this is what i sent to parking eye. They cashed the cheque within 3 days..therefore accepting my money. A month later i received a letter from graham white solicitors demanding i pay a further £177. I called this company to explain what had happened. The man i spoke to was very rude and basically called me a liar throughout the whole call. I ended up putting the phone down as he was being so rude. I then emailed Parking eye to find out why they had got their solicitors involved when they had already accepted my cash payment of £60.

Today i have recived a final notice from Graham white demanding yet more money. I also received a letter from Parking Eye stating that there are no outstanding payments against me and that my £60 has been accepted.!!

If anyone receives a letter from Graham White..please do not give in and pay the money they demand!

I am only 20 and if i hadnt read the comments on here i would have got really worried and ended up paying the money to graham white. Im so glad i read the comments on here as i have learnt that this company is a complete scam..

Is there anything that can be done to put a stop to this? I wonder how many people they have managed to scam!

Taking into consideration what Coupon-Mad posted earlier it would probably be easier that you start your own thread, Molly.

Had you not realised that you need not have paid the initial £60 to ParkingEye anyway and that what you were charged was not a fine, never has been and never will be?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Unfortunately, Molly, you have learned the hard way that you are dealing with totally dishonest people. As HO says, if only you had found this forum sooner, you need never have paid these SCAMMING CROOKS anything at all. As it is, they think if you were soft enough to pay their first demand, you can be conned out of more cash. When will something be done about this (and other companies? When we get a Government with balls and brains. So not anytime soon.

Never mind, never pay again, and tell all your friends it is all a SCAM. Only the Police and the local Councils have the power to fine you- anyone else you ignore in future!!

    Steady on there girl!
  • I have recently received letters from Roxburghe Debt Collectors and Graham White Solicitors claiming I was sent a notice in the post for a civil car parking violation at an apcoa station car park. I have never received a notice and had no idea about it until receiving the Roxburghe letter. I immediately appealed against the fine by APCOA but it was of course outside the 14 day appeal timelimit. They have since upheld my appeal on the grounds I appealed too late. I have never received a notice and to this day never have. How can I appeal against a notice I never received? Has anyone experianced this, as after reading the forum comments and doing some exploring on-line it looks like a scam and I perhaps should not pay the fine (£128). Can anyone help me as to what to do? Thank you.

    Yes, ignore it.

Its completely unenforceable. Its not a 'fine', no private company has the authority to fine people. Its a charge for breaching a contract. Under contract law, the only recoverable sum for breach is actual losses incurred, which in this case is zero. So the £128 is a made up contractual penalty completely unenforceable under civil law.

Ignore it, and ignore the follow up threats. Eventually they will simply go away.
    Je Suis Cecil.
