Graham White Soliciters Over Apcoa Parking Fines

  • Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the informative posts - i've dealt with these various parking enforcement notices for what seems like a lifetime, but just wanted to throw in something new.

We received the usual letters, and my girlfriend sent an appeal email (we park at this station car park EVERY day, using phone payment, forgot just once, and we hoped they might be lenient - as if!)

In one of their letters (addressed now, of course, to my girlfriend) they claimed to have 'Contacted the DVLA' to discover the details of the registered keeper of the vehicle, and that it was my girlfriend. Well, unfortunately for them, I am the registered keeper - so they've been caught out on another lie.

I KNOW all these posts just say ignore, but should I write to them, invoking this (along with the various other, legal) mistruths and tell them, basically, to leave us alone?

    Cheers, guys,

    Michael.
  • I am afraid that will have the reverse effect as the scammers will think you are taking the bait. Just shred the threatmail and take comfort in the fact that nonproductive threatmail costs scammers money.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

    Michael,

Just ignore them. Why waste time and effort on a bunch of clowns.

If parking firms had some legal recourse, the last thing they would do is tip you off the act they would use to sue you.
in fact they would issue one invoice, one reminder and then court action, why waste time with dozens of threats one after the other, unless that is of course you are bluffing ?

I've had a handfull of letter now from Roxborugh on behald of APOA. I've had non stop phone calls also. Each letter stated that I will go to court if i dont pay. And possible ballifs. But these letters are jumping the gun to the extreme. The way i see it is. For one thing. Will they take me to court to prove i was driver? I dont have to disclose that unless a judge decides its necessary I think. And then will they take me the court to sue me for breach of contract? But i wasnt in contract with them. I didnt agree to their parking terms and conditions. I didnt take them seriously as their signs were for shock effect i assumed? So they have to prove that a contract existed. And then that i was in breach. I dont think i was in breach. I barely did anything wrong. And the court will decide the settlement fee which is reasonable if i was in breach and their contract terms were fair and not unreasonable. If in breach then I can ask to pay "X" amount per week/month as agreed.. Then if i dont pay, the balifs can maybe try to reclaim some amounts providing they have legal claim to. So until that happens i've been putting the letters in the bin.And they can pee off. - (Also who is to say that DVLA have my wrong address for some reason? Their system isnt updated you see!. They shouldnt rely on DVLA for my current address as i've since moved before i could update the changes. . So i havent been getting their letters/invoices? )

You really should try to think before you put fingers to keyboard.

    Paragraphs are useful.

  • One more who does not really want help. Good Bye.

I believe you mean 'an English language assignment' [since I wasn't asking you for an essay on Great Expectations [that's a book btw]].

The point I was making is that your post is one long rambling chunder of words that no-one in their right mind will bother finishing. It's unclear if you're just ranting or asking a question or whatever...so you won't get a reply. [Of course having said all this, someone will now read it and reply just to be able to say I'm wrong, lol].
