Graham White Soliciters Over Apcoa Parking Fines

Yes, 100% ignore, ECP never do Court.
No, don't appeal, there is NO APPEALS PROCESS - that's a lie just to get info and to make theirs look similar to real (Council) parking ticket processes.
Like you, I had a ECP fake ticket 3 years ago and would very happily collect more, safe in the knowledge that they are just toothless parasites on the bum of real retailers. I shop, park and stay as long as I like, sometimes in the same car park where I got the piece of rubbish bogus ticket.
I also used to work in Financial Services. There is NO effect on credit rating just for having a fake parking 'ticket' and the scammers sending you some debt collector and 'let's pretend we are a solicitor' letters. You don't just get a black mark, as I am sure you know, without a Small Claim being won or credit agreement being breached - and since when do you recall signing a CCA credit agreement with this bunch of chancers?! And seeing as ECP never go to Court I think you can see where their letters are leading...nowhere!
Complain to the retailer if you were shopping there! But PLEASE make sure it's clearly a COMPLAINT about them letting a protection racket on site to threaten their customers, not an appeal telling them the excuse/circumstances re your parking - you DO NOT have to apologise or beg forgiveness to anyone for parking in a retail car park to do some shopping!

Thanks a lot for clarifying, it makes complete sense reading but when it's you... you know!
The sign says who the landlord is but it's basically a car park on the back of a pub and police station so I can't really complain to anyone.
If I am safe to ignore then I will... a template letter to then not suggested then?
Many thanks again, I can upload the letters if anyone likes? It's funny because the actually refer to 'anacdotal information in various websites' they must get this a lot!!0 -

Yep we have seen that letter about 'anecdotal information' - in fact if you take that full sentence from that letter and Google it, you will find forum posts about others who have ignored that letter, on here and pepipoo forums. You are on perfectly safe ground.
If you get any letters that are different from the letter-chains shown in our top thread that I pointed you towards in my reply in post #321 above, then please do link a pic - but as a reply on that top thread, not here, so Crabman can add it to those shown for information. But if you just get one of the well-known letter-chains then there's no need, just look ahead at our pics and try to guess which letter might come next!
And no-one on here suggests a template letter, it just generates an extra reply of rubbish and has no other effect whatsoever. This is just a computerised mail scam which will churn out and then stop.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi All,
I've just joined this site and i need to say that i'm so glad that people like me have your support and understanding on these issues.
I parked entered the retail park in Hackney in May 2011 and waited there INSIDE the car for about 2 hours for a friend of mine who was lost. Upon entering the car park i had a look for signs and saw none showing that you had to pay. This was at 9:45pm so it was really dark. I left the car park just before middnight.
I had bought my car a week before the incident so the parking notice went to the previous owner who passed on my details and 3 weeks later i received the first parking notice with a picture of my car.
Straight away i looked this company up on the internet (PARKING EYE) and saw you wonderful people advise on their scams and games. i did exactly that and after 3 letters from them, today 06/09/11 I received a letter from Roxburghe Uk ltd, but the letter head says Graham White Solicitors.
They're asking me to pay £207.25. Like hell am i going to pay. It's absolutely disgusting how they intimidate and threaten innocent members of the public with this notices.
I guess i'll just wait for the next trail of letter from them. I must say that when i saw County Court but i must stand my ground and do F*** All.
I'm so mad at them but on the same note i do feel scared just incase they do actulally take me to Court.
has anyone else received any of these notices recently?
Thanks

If Parking Spy knew they had a winnable case they would have taken you to court by now, however trying to charge £200 for parking on a retail park late at night (where I'm assuming most of the shops would have been closed), where the damages incurred would be nothing would be laughed out of court. Just get ready for a "we are giving you one last chance to pay £100 to make this matter go-away" final throw of the die letter.
Carry on ignoring, all the letters say "May" or "could"0 -
If Parking Spy have passed it to Roxburghe its going nowhere!0

Just hijacking this thread (and asking for patience for me as a newbie who has just joined purely to say) I HAVE JOINED THE ECP CLUB, whoop.
Thanks to all of your wonderful info I have ignored all contact so far, quietly confident I am doing the right thing.
I am on letter #5 from Debt Recovery Plus who are now OFFERING me a reduced payment offer (£150 down to £120, natch). I am noting with interest all of your comments re the non-committal language. "We have referred your case to our client and have proposed issuing County Court proceedings against you"....and "If the case reaches court and judgement is obtained costs may increase the debt...."
I doubted myself at first (and to be honest, every time I get a new letter I wonder if have done the right thing as it seems to get more and more threatening) however I just need to look on here for the reassurance! BIG thanks to you all :T
(TBH it's turned more into a competition between me and Mr Willy Wilson. He thinks I am wrong for ignoring - I cant wait to prove him wrong.)
I will wont I .....??? :eek:0 -
The "we have passed it back and recommend" is another lie, as all they have done is passed the file containing your info to the other desk in the portacabin.0

I was wondering if anyone can help me regarding excel/roxburghe/graham white? I've read a lot about these 'companies' on different forums and seem to get the same message - that they are rogue traders who will never take anyone to court. I've had letters from all three of them for a parking ticket that was issued to me in May (wrongly in my opinion and i appealed to excel at the time) - today i've had my second letter from 'graham white' with a final warning. Has anyone actually been taken to court in the end? There is no mention by anyone on these forums that they ended up going to court after these letters - so i assume nobody has but it is very worrying when i keep getting these letters. I'm also getting texts from Roxburghe still telling me to call them!0

Well Roxburghe and Graham White letters & texts/calls come from Roxburghe call centre (there is no solicitor involved, they just use the name).
'Graham White' have never taken anyone to Court. They tried once that we know off, mucked up the claim and had to withdraw it. No-one else has reported anything except the usual letters, texts/calls. And Excel in their own right tried a few years ago in Court and lost a case or two, ran away with their tail between their legs and have not attmpted Court since.
So it's safe to say the scam is based around mail threats and phone calls/texts only - then they go away. Which is true in almost every case with any fake parking 'ticket' scam.
If you want, reply to the next text (do not phone them) and say the alleged debt is DENIED and their contact is harassment. TELL them to pass the file back to Excel and not to contact you again, either as Roxburghe or when pretending to be 'Graham White'. No discussion, phone down (or end of text).
