  • the garden cain was a sensible answer

It costs nothing to to and would help you work out the two front corners, a lot of dodgy imported crap from japan has little sticks that light up

I park up the car. Then have a look to see how far away I am from the wall and think "Oh! I'm about 2 feet away, next time I can park a bit closer." Then the next time I park closer and have another look to gauge the limits.
I have similar with mine, I know if I park it so it looks like it's close there's gonna be at least another foot or so of space I can move forward a bit more. You just have to be careful you don't assume there's always too much space - as I did at the parents the other week, got out to find my numberplate mm's away from their caravan's tow bar fitting :o

Bit more sensible than my suggestion which would have been to screw a bit of wood onto the bumper sticking upwards.

That apart, reverse in although that might need a new thread.

On most modern new cars with the cab-forward designs you cannot see the ends of the bonnets. Some cars help you with nodules in the lights like on the Nissan Micra and Nissan Note.

Far too many women want to see the bonnet of their cars and sit in a ridiculous upright position too close to the steering wheel. Even with an airbag they are likely to suffer chest injuries from sitting too close to the wheel.

You need to accept that on modern cars you can't see the front of the car and adapt accordingly. I drive about 5-6 different cars each week and sometimes one or two new cars. I park up the car. Then have a look to see how far away I am from the wall and think "Oh! I'm about 2 feet away, next time I can park a bit closer." Then the next time I park closer and have another look to gauge the limits.

I'm quite short (5, 4) so I have to pull my seat quite forward. Didn't know I was at increased risk of injury from it:eek:
I have a Grand Vitara, so its probably designed for all sizes, when I have driven little cars I don't need to pull the seat nearly as forward.

Just pulling forward your seat so you can reach the pedals shouldn't be a problem, I think what vikingaero is referring to, and I've seen it myself before is women who drive the the steering wheel pulled into their chest and their head peering over the top of it all the time, instead of sitting back into the seat.
