Parking a car when you can't see the bonnet?

After you have misjudged it a few times you will find that the bonnet will have wrinkles in it, which will be clearly visible from the driving seat ! :rotfl:0

Can you ever see the front of a bonnet in any car your driving? apart from a massive truck haha
The cars Ive had over the years and others Ive drove I have never been able to see the front of the bonnet. or maybe I can but just never noticed. Its just your own good judgment knowing how big your car is and how much space you have infront of you
In a Matrix you can't see ANY of the bonnet as it is a weird shape, look how it drops down at the front.0 -

How the eck do you park a car when you can't see the bonnet?
We have aquired a Hyundai Matrix and because of the weird shape of the bonnet (it drops down) you can't see any of the bonnet at all.0 -

with someone with you park front on about 6inches away from a wall or fence, then take a measurement from the top edge of bonnet(by screen) in a horizontal line to the wall/fence,whatever that measures(say 3ft) that will be your line up,
so when you go to park look at the bonnet edge and judge 4ft in front that gives you a foot clearance:jIMOJACAR

Nope, haven't bothered to test drive it as we are being given it by a member of the family who can no longer drive due to illness.
Don't think we can turn down a seven year old car with full electrics, pas, abs, leather interior and less than 50k miles on the clock, would you?0 -
On most modern new cars with the cab-forward designs you cannot see the ends of the bonnets. Some cars help you with nodules in the lights like on the Nissan Micra and Nissan Note.
Far too many women want to see the bonnet of their cars and sit in a ridiculous upright position too close to the steering wheel. Even with an airbag they are likely to suffer chest injuries from sitting too close to the wheel.
You need to accept that on modern cars you can't see the front of the car and adapt accordingly. I drive about 5-6 different cars each week and sometimes one or two new cars. I park up the car. Then have a look to see how far away I am from the wall and think "Oh! I'm about 2 feet away, next time I can park a bit closer." Then the next time I park closer and have another look to gauge the limits. The man without a signature.0 -
