Thank you
Simone
Have a look at this site- it has a separate section on people's experiences with the Halifax and other banks.

You need to register with the site, then wait for an email to tell you your account has been activated, then you should have access.0 -
Hope someone can advise on this
I have sent my letter before action ... letter and am still a/w a response. Having a look at the Moneyclaim site, there is no option for anything to register in scotland.
I am looking to claim 339 and 270 from RBOS and HBOS.
Does anyone know if RBOS have a 'head office' based in England, This is just about the only way I can think of to get around this......
Also open to suggestions

I got offered £500 off Barclays from the £1,300 claiming!
I'm turning them down and filing the Online Claims Court action tonight.0 -
Unbelievable.
I have a Nat West basic account which I use to deposit odd bits and pieces from greasy palm and also anything from Paypal.
Anway, I made two purchases from ebay last week and paid by Paypal. I had a couple of quid in my paypal account and a couple of quid (literally) in my nat west account.
Anyway,, had a letter on Saturday - the Nat West have returned the two Paypal payments (which they are classing as DD's) , one for just over £4 and one for just over £5. Paypal should really have used my back up CC , but they didn't as the nat west at the time authorised the payments. (luckily I've now got about £20 in my paypal account for when the payments are returned)
Anyway, the upshot is that they have charged me £38 per item (!!!!!!!!!!), and my account is now £73 overdrawn with a zero o/limit.
So, I've been charged £76 in charges for going a total of just over £5 overdrawn.......
I've sent a letter from the templates and faxed it off."Stay Wonky":D

This page gives step-by-step instructions (comes under FAQs):

Hi Everyone,
I am new today and just joined this great site. I would welcome some advice regarding this latest development regarding reclaiming your bank charges. I have had a rocky relationship with my bank in the last 4 years regarding charges for being overdrawn (over my overdraft as a student) and for DD being returned.
I have not had the guts to do something about it till now as I am not very good at interpreting legal stuff.
Anyway, and earlier this month I happened to have a DD of £50.10 returned as I was overdrawn. I no longer have an overdraft. However, I was then charged £30 for this in fees! I was wondering if I have any grounds to legaly reclaim this charge and any that have occured for the length of time I have been with the bank?
Thank you for any help.0 -
Now then...
Sent 1st letter to HBOS 3 weeks ago, and got a response back last week stating:
Thank you for your recent enquiry about our banking charges...blah blah....blah...here is a copy of our terms and conditions of our accounts and a table of all charges...blah will look into this and get back to you

Halifax
I did not have any time over the weekend to sent the 2nd letter, but recieved a phone call last night from HBOS saying that they had reviewd my case and 'out of good will' will refund the 179.00 requested. Not getting hopes up, but waiting on letter to confrim, and will send back asap.
Just 279 to get back now from RBOS
