Thanks Girls
Here's my list for today:
- [STRIKE]Clean kitchen (my flatmate kindly left a week's worth of his washing up to be done before he went on holiday so I'll have to do two lots)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Tidy front room[/STRIKE]
- Have a bath and wash hair
- [STRIKE]Do laundry[/STRIKE]
That's the minimum, but if I have time before I meet my stepmum for dinner tonight then...
- Tidy bedroom a bit more
- Organise uni work that is piling up on my desk
With lots of tea inbetween!
I'm feeling quite proud of myself that I've nearly got everything sorted for Christmas already! Like you said Cinny, one less money thing to worry about!
The girl who cut my hair was cutting my OH's Mum's hair last night and while I was round there she spent a good 20 mins doing my fringe, and cutting the front parts of my hair cuz they had grown quite a bit. She didn't want any money but I put £5 in her bag anyway. So very MSE! They charge £3.50 just to trim your fringe at the place where she works!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

That was nice of her Zig! I think people are really sneaky doing that, when they refuse money it just makes you want to give them a bit more.
Was very nice of your flatmate to leave you the washing too! At least you did it, I would have just left it there if it was me
It's quite nice having Christmas sorted early, well - almost sorted! Am not looking forward to wrapping though, I'm so bad at it.0 -
I felt like giving £5 was being a bit stingy but that was all I had on me!
It took me 3 loads of washing up to get it all done! I said to the flatmate a couple of weeks ago that I'm not doing his washing up anymore cuz uni takes up a lot of time. Cuz I was doing all the washing up and cleaning in the flat and it was really starting to bug me that he never said thanks or anything. It's been quite nice seeing all his washing up pile up and know I don't have to do it!
I love wrapping presents! Settling down in front of the tv with all your wrapping paper, tags, chocolate etc! I can only do the square presents well though.
Two things down on the list, which has taken nearly all day! I'm feeling better though which is good. I'm going out for dinner tonight, to an Asian restaurant - yum!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I'm doing really bad with my money at the moment. Just checked my Lloyds account this morning and I was £6 over my £100 overdraft so I quickly moved £20 in but I need to sort it all out again.
I have £10 in my purse, my OH owes me £20, and my sister owes me £22 so that is a total of £52 to last me until next Friday. Out of that has to come petrol money, food for next week and swimming on the weekend.
But because I'm now £100 overdrawn it means that I will be paid £100 less really so next month will be tight!
I have £70 in my Bruges spending money fund. I was aiming for £150 by the time we go. This includes the £50 for the B&B. I'm tempted to use that to pay towards my overdraft but I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to pay it back into my savings in time. I think if I do this and I can't pay it back into my savings in time then I'll just have to use my student overdraft and pay it back to that after Christmas.
I thought I was doing ok! It was spending £30 in Boots on myself that wasn't good..Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Hi zig - don't lose heart! Half the battle is just knowing what your account balances are - there were times when I was a student that I wouldn't check mine for months and wonder why I had so many charges! I think you are doing really well keeping things under control. I'm sure you can make £52 last you the week.0

Thanks Dallas
I reckon I can make the £52 last the week, if I try really hard! It's the next few months I'm worrying about now cuz I'm right on the edge of my overdraft.
I check my account every day! I'd go crazy if I didn't check it for a couple of months!
I'm trying to think of ways to offload some of my Soap & Glory stash..
I have:
Scrub of Your Life x 6
Mini Had Food Hand Cream x 1
Mini Clean On Me Body Wash x 2
Mini Righteous Body Butter x 2
Mini Flakeaway Body Scrub x 1
I want to keep it all! But I might try and sell some of the body scrubs to my sister. Or put it in someone's Christmas present.Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

haha- I know I used to be soooo awful with money and caused myself so much unnecessary stress and anxiety. I hope that I've learned my lesson now and I check my accounts at least once a day!
Wow - you have alot of Soap and Glory! You could make a nice little gift bag with all the mini ones and save yourself buying a Christmas present. Think you should keep some of the scrubs for yourself, though!0 -
There was a Boots glitch and I kinda went a bit mad!
That little lot cost me £24 which I can't decide is good or not!
Yeah I thought it would make a nice little gift bag too, shame I've sorted out my sister's present! I'll have a think of someone else suitable though.
Today's To Do List

Just checked my account and I was £1 overdrawn cuz Tesco had taken Mum's CC payment and I wasn't expecting it. Argh! I really hope I don't get charged.
I have transferred my Bruges money over so now I am £31.25 overdrawn, and I have no money for Bruges. My OH is meant to be transferring £25 into my account later so that will bring it down to £6.25 overdrawn.
I need to transfer £5 to Mum's credit card though so I'll be £11.25 overdrawn in total. Then payday next Friday, thank god.
OH is not here until late afternoon tomorrow so I'll just sit in the flat and get on with uni work and not spend any money.
I now have £20 to last me until Friday (because OH is paying his online) so we shall see how it goes! It's my Mum's birthday on Wednesday so I need some money for a curry.Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Day off uni today, yay! :T But my back is killing me so that's not so good. I'm sat cross-legged on my bed and I can feel the strain in my lower back and it's so painful! I'm gonna have to get up in a mo.
Not much to report in money news. I get paid on Friday and can't wait!
Monday's To Do List
- Tidy room
- Organise my work for my next uni assignment
Only 2 jobs today because they will take all day! :rolleyes:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21
