Is your overdraft a student one? If it is then and you aren't paying interest on it, I wouldn't worry too much and concetrate on your studies. Obviously still pay off as much as you can comfortably but don't stress yourself out!

It is annoying when people seem to have it all and haven't worked for it but that is just life sadly.

Thanks Wendz, I hadn't thought about it logically and considered the fact it's at 0%. It's more of a pyschological thing, wanting to be 'debt-free' (in my view, as I'm not counting student loans) before I start the 2nd year of uni. But if I'm not, then it's not the end of the world! :o

I will be spending more over the next few weeks as I am going to start swimming. I really need to lose weight and I like swimming. Especially if the weather stays like this because I can't stand the heat! I need to find out if I can get cheap rates cuz I'm a student..hopefully! :p

I know what you mean, I don't need to pay my overdraft off yet but am still doing it as I want to do it before it becomes urgent! What Iam doing is any extra money I get through all the various moneymaking things I am doing I am putting on overdraft. That way its not eating into my pay from work. Do your best but don't stress yourself out!

Swimming sounds like a good idea, I could really do with doing some more exersize!

I paid my overdraft off even though I didn't need to for another year and a half because while it would have been slightly more profitable to put it in a saver, the piece of mind for the sake of an extra £40 or something simply wasn't worth it!

I completely get what you mean Dinah, that's why I wanna do it.

What you're doing Wendz is a good idea. I think that's what I'll do. But I think I'll use £50 from my wages, which leaves me approx £145 for everything else for the month.

Swimming was fun actually, I felt better for doing it. But I was only there for 30 mins cuz my sister got bored so next time I'll go on my own and get my £3.50's worth! Me and the OH are planning on going jogging next week. If I don't post again then you'll know I died cuz I am so unfit!!

I'm properly dreading looking at my overdraft cuz I've been spending loads on it lately. I spent about £50 in the sweaty betty sale but I love their stuff and it's usually so expensive. I am half hoping though that some stuff won't fit so I can send it back. :o

I felt quite organised using stuff out the cupboard to plan tea for tonight and tomorrow. Had to buy some fresh stuff and that came to about £6 which is a bit annoying cuz I want to only spend £20 a week and that is quite a chunk gone. I only bought coriander, basil, spring onions, mushrooms, creme fraiche, milk and juice. Or is that a good amount for that stuff?!:p

I don't have any overtime until Friday 10th (payday!) which isn't so good on the money front but I'm looking forward to having a few days to sort my room and money and uni stuff out. I might even do some batch cooking!

    To Do List - Monday

    *Tidy room!
    *Fill in NHS help form
    *Clean kitchen floor
*Look at overdraft account and figure everything out

Only four things but I'm sure they won't all get done.

Well I just rang Tesco so I could shut my CC account. They asked why and I told them it's because I want to do a balance transfer and I got a deal with another card. So they offered me 1.9% for 6 months which I have taken. I have transferred the balance from my Mum's card cuz she owes £1600 on a card with stupid interest rates. So that's shifted £570 from that which I'm pleased about. I'll have to change the direct debit so that it's her paying it though.

Don't you hate it when transactions take ages to show on your account? I hate not knowing exactly what money I have!

My OH is being really generous lately. He paid £50 into my account last week, and now he's offering to pay £100 off my overdraft. I feel guilty tho cuz it's his money. :o

On with the tidying of the room!

Thats really nice of your OH!

I was going to say for the OD thing that I do, I save all the money up in my ISA and then am paying it off in lump sums. As the OD is interest free and you get interest by having it in a savings account, you will actually be making a bit of money. I also find that it means that I don't keep dipping into my overdraft as the money is safely in my savings account. That might not work for you, but just thought I would tell you how I do it!

How much is the payment to the CC Zig? Would it be possible for her to clear that balance by you upping the payment a little for the next 6 months?

Thanks Wendz, that's a good idea! Cuz I usually take my overdraft account card with me and if I'm not sure if I have enough money in my other account then I bung it on there...

But if I leave the card at home and do what you do and put money in savings then pay it off in lump sums then I won't have to keep looking at my account to check what's going on and how much I have! :p

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself with the food situation (my biggest weakness!) I made sticky mango chicken with cous cous for tea last night. I liked it but OH didn't cuz I found out last night that he doesn't like coriander  He had chips out the freezer instead! But bless him for trying, he said he felt bad cuz I had gone to the trouble of making it!

Tonight we are gonna have cheese, bacon and mushroom omelettes to use up the rest of the stuff in the fridge. So I only need to buy eggs for that. And for lunch I had cous cous with spring onion, blue cheese and balsamic vinegar. Which sounds hideous but wasn't! :D

I just remembered that I was meant to be writing down all my spends! I'll need to buy eggs so it won't be a NSD. But hopefully tomorrow will be one!

I don't know exactly but I think it'll be about £13, minimum payment. So I make it up to say, £30? To make sure it's cleared?
