I think it makes them eager to get hitched a bit sooner!
I guess if you're religious like that then it seems more normal to get married quite young, but if you're just a chav like the people round here getting engaged then it's just a bit weird! I think everything feels weird at the moment cuz I keep forgetting I'm 20. I still think I'm 18...
I don't think I will be getting half the money back for the hoover, cuz I'll probably only be living here for another 2 years at the most, so I'll just take it with me. Lol I know, of all the exciting things to buy, an iron! It was £27 reduced from £60 thoughTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Oof, you little hellraiser!
They're things that will last though, and the breadmaker will save you lots in the long run. All that for £80 is fab!
I love the idea of running away to get married, I couldn't do it though I'd feel too guilty. Already have my wedding planned even with prices. I'm a right Monica!
As for your spending spree the other day, everyone slips up and £2 on a sandwich is mild compaired to some. And £1 on the scratchcards isn't too bad either, it was free money so it hasn't really come out of your own pocket.0 -
Well, I'm not gonna lie, the breadmaker was a bit of an impulse buy... I have debated over getting one for a while. But I was scared it would join the appliance graveyard along with the sandwich toaster, etc. But it was reduced so I got it! The OSers love theirs so I'll give it a whirl
Ha, that's very organised! I'm almost jealous.. My OH would freak if I had it all planned. It bugs him enough when I tell him how I plan on decorating the house and what stuff [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] I will have! A KitchenAid mixer is definately on the list. And an ice cream machine. You still planning on getting a KitchenAid?
Thanks for the reassurance about the spending, just irritating that I just bought 'bits and bobs' and now I have no money!
I LOVE Paloma Faith's song - Stone Cold Sober. I was just watching her video on youtube and thinking I love her hair. And I've just realised, when my hair grows more, it will be like that! Yay! :T Yes, I may still need to lose weight, but at least I will like my hairTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

At least the purchases are useful things rather than just pretty things. You never know if you get good at making bread you might make your money back in years to come!
I keep getting tempted to plan bits of my wedding but i know my tastes might change when it comes to it. I think if you would prefer to go away somewhere and do it, you should. I am quite into the idea of having all my friends/family there though so couldnt do it myself!
I have a friend who got married at 21 but her Dad is a vicar, so was expected. Although she wasn't as good a girl as she should have been hehe.0 -
You know the prices of things in your wedding which isn't even on the cards yet Cinny?! That's scary! How much does it cost?! I have absolutely no idea what I would do for mine if asked, other than I would want it in a church, quite possibly on our anniversary just because its a romantic date to us, life changing and all that!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yeah your anniversary date would be a good one. Me and my OH can't quite remember if ours is the 7th or 8th August cuz I thought it was the 8th and he thought it was the 7th...or the other way around! I think we stuck with the 8th in the endTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

All I know is that I'd want it in May or June, I'd want it to be in a hotel or castle or something as I am not religious and think it would be hypocritical for me to get married in a church, I know who my bridesmaids are going to be, what style dress I want.... hmmm hardly ever think about it:rotfl:0

My dream wedding (the Gretna Green one) is under 4k
OH doesn't know I know the prices, he just thinks I have a 'rough' idea of what weddings I like.. tum te tum..
Zig - I'm useless with dates, OH seems to remember them all though so at least one of us does! I love Paloma Faith's hair too, there's so much of it!0 -
Why May or June Wendz? Our anniversary is June, today in fact. Today would be a lovely wedding day for someone, glorious for the photos.
I have help for when our anniversary is - I still have last years diary with my flight times and stuff in it, and we count the day after I came back as our anniversary, as I left my ex the day I came back, and from the next day on we were on the phone constantly, and pretty much inseperable. Ofc the first kiss didn't come for another 10 days (3 date rule kind of went out the window, that was about 3 hours after the first kiss!)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

On our first date we went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but first we went to the pub. I was nervous about what drink I should have if he asked (how stupid!) so my mates told me bacardi breezer. It was like 1pm. Common-sense went out the window and I felt like a right idiot cuz he had coke and I had barcardi breezer!
Our first kiss was during the film lol, but we did wait three dates (well, 7 days!). We didn't get back til 1am cuz we were chatting in the car. My Mum came out to tell me off, which was completely mortifying. I'm surprised he didn't dump me there and then!
