  • maybe they think you don't need to know, as long as it meets their criteria ? You can always get an estate agent round if you're curious...

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I'd also be interested in news of other fixed deals. I am stuck in my current mortgage deal for a while and so I missed out on the A&L deal (much to my annoyance). It'd be great if people continued to update this thread with any great deals they can find - if nothing else it'll provide a good indication of where the market is going.

    .

We had an internal valuation, even the valuer was unsure why as our LTV is quite low, his next client was a drive by with a much higher LTV.

    I don't think they'll disclose as they're paying:confused:

Well fingers crossed our a&l 3.99% is going through today. It was supposed to happen on Wednesday but they tried to close the mortgage account which is also our current account so we had to halt it, they were then going to do it yesterday but they said that we'd borrowed insufficient funds and had to send them a cheque for £100 to make up the small fall. We went through the figures and they realised we had borrowed enought....so, let's see what today brings!!! It's either champagne tonight (ok, Lidl budget plonk - very nice too) or lots more phone calls!

We managed to get the 5 year fix of 3.99% @ HSBC with £999 fees the day before it was pulled. Just sent the application information and payslips etc. back, so hopefully it will get there before Monday's deadline for this rate.

Although the fees are £999, there are no other fees to pay as HSBC cover everything else including valuation. I don't mind paying the fee's as other rates at the moment are a lot more and work out more expensive over the 5 years.

With this rate, we can knock the mortgage term down by 3 years from 21 to 18 years, and still pay around £50 less per month. With the ability to overpay by upto 20% per month, we could conceivably knock another year and a bit of the full term.

Will be pleased with the piece of mind if it comes off!
