For Naomi House, I collect used postage stamps; red, green and blue milk bottle lids; old or unwanted foreign currency and used printer cartridges. I realise that some of this is costly to post, so please don't send it unless you really want to!

ETA - I'll join you in some ironing!

Do you mean the plastic lids, not the foil ones on glass bottles as that is what we have. Shame I'm not coming on the meet as I could raid the scrap store they have tubs full of the plastic lids.

Sounds like a valid decision to me Rose. Don't let yourself get sucked in, it isn't going to help you at all. Stay here where people are lovely - although after the 'secret tip off' PMing re candlegate and the depression thread I have my reservations  .

Mmmm, well whoever's spreading gossip can keep doing it as far as I'm concerned - we are never nasty on here, we're always supportive and if someone is being attacked on another thread we will support them even more - that's what this thread is so good for, and if others don't like that we support posters on here - old and new, then tough! and I'm sure Pigpen would agree. Even when nasty retorts were put on here the other day, no-one replied with any viciousness or nastyness, just ignored it and it went away... stuff 'em I say...;) Just as long as we get our housework and stuff done and keep supporting each other, the others can go hang... (sorry, bit of a rant, but I hate nastyness..., no need for it )

    Now, in another vein...

Oh and Frodders and anyone else even contemplating chickening out of next Sat's meet. DON'T. You have nothing to fear. We are all nice people, we will have a good time. It's not like any of us are expecting at least a snog at the end of the day (heaven forfend ).

We will be like minded people meeting for a pleasant lunch and possibly a walk and that's it. It WILL be fun.

And anyway, BB and I would feel awful if we were stood up by EVERYONE. Just imagine. BB and I could stand there for ages (perhaps up to an hour just in case) under the hanging sign of the inn. We would be the subject of conversation of the regulars:

"Do you think she's on the game?"
"Nah - unless she's only charging tuppence"

"Do you think she's been stood up?"
"Probably with a face like that..."

"Do you think she's doing undercover work?"
"If she is, she's not very undercover..."

Nearly choked on my tea... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: what do they think when they see you taking photos of places and stuff for your book then?... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyone fancy a quick HHC at 8.15? I'm determined to get more than 2 stars this week as OH is still out shooting at his club and it's much easier to get things done when he's not in making mess.

ETA oh dear - I'm too late - the new thread is up!

I'll see what I can dig out this week and bring it on Sat. I know there are 3 used printer cartridges waiting to be posted off to the manufacturer but if Naomi's house can make money out of them, then you can have them.

Froddy - I remember hearing about them losing their savings (in the gym, where else?!), and I think I've signed the petition...

I have an envelope full of ancient foreign currency that I've been wondering what to do with, so I'll bring it along for you next Saturday! And I'll try to sort out some collection boxes at work... if I put them next to the cake I'm sure people will notice :D
