Hi Steve
Well done.:T  :T
Right I've known it to be 28 days after they receive the signed confirmation, but I imagine they have that many ot deal with, they may take a little longer.
However, I would contact them and ask them when you should be expecting this.;)
Any problem, let us know and we can try to sort out some sort of simple letter before action letter (LBA) if it comes to it.
Good luck

Hi Steve, with pleasure.;)
I would give them a ring tomorrow and ask them, if they say they do not have timescales on when they should be sending these refunds out, let us know and we shall take it from there.
Yes it will be a help for you wouldn't it?;)
Good luck and please keep us posted anyway that will be cool, cheers.:A

Hi
I would just like to follow up on the above. A and L have agreed to refund my PPI of £509 which is great.
But it's taking them a long time.. they have confirmed they received my acceptance letter on 17th Feb 09, I have phoned a few times and been told it is in the process but taking long time due to large volumes etc
They have not been able to give me a time frame, last time I called was yesterday and the cheque still hasnt been written so it's been 5 weeks now.
Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated0 -

I know that lots of people are reporting these payments are taking a long time. I think we just have to be patient with these.:mad:0 -
Thanks maxdp, it's good to know that I'm not the only one waiting on a cheque.
My patience is starting to wear a bit thin with them, especially when i got a letter yesterday asking me to send back my acceptance form!!
When I called they said it's a computer generated letter in error.
I'll just have to keep waiting then...0 -
I am also waiting for a cheque, sent my letter back 23rd Feb.
It's funny how they can send out new agreements so quick and the day after I cancelled my original direct debit I got a letter from them but they take 5+ weeks to write out a cheque....0 -
I have been waiting about 3 weeks now.have not phoned them as their office seems to close at 5 and I'm still at work.I am not that fussed about waiting 5 weeks or so just as long as it does come.0

Hope you all hear soon and receive your money.;)
I think its probably because they have that many complaints and refunds to deal with they have a back-log.
But fingers crossed to you folks anyway.;)

Dont want to make you all groan but I have just come off the phone to A&L and they are fobbing me off again, its in the system but your cheque has not been sent. I had the letter from them on the 26th January, I have phoned 3 times and have not got anywhere, they have promised me that a manager will phone - yeah right.
Well i have not just 5 mins ago come off the phone with the Financial Ombudsman and they were fantastic - they are writting a letter to them tonight as this is just unacceptable, its two months down the line and they are sitting on £1,600 of my money - I want it back NOW!0
