Dont want to make you all groan but I have just come off the phone to A&L and they are fobbing me off again, its in the system but your cheque has not been sent. I had the letter from them on the 26th January, I have phoned 3 times and have not got anywhere, they have promised me that a manager will phone - yeah right.
Well i have not just 5 mins ago come off the phone with the Financial Ombudsman and they were fantastic - they are writting a letter to them tonight as this is just unacceptable, its two months down the line and they are sitting on £1,600 of my money - I want it back NOW!
Good for you pushing for this hun :T :T :T , I'm sure this will all go in your favour, good luck hun.

I'm in the same position - waiting for my cheque after reciving a letter end of Jan.
I have spoken to a "manager" - they never phone you when it has been promised, I had to phone several times and demand to speak to someone with authority.
They all tell you the same thing - that they can't confirm when cheques will be sent. When I questioned him as to why he said it was because of the sheer volume of cheques they were having to write and the process of getting the cheques written/issued etc.
Seriously I wonder if they are waiting to see what the total bill is before they issue cheques.
Has anybody received a cheque from A&L yet? How long did it take?0 -
A&L agreed to pay me £2K in January but now it's June & they still have my money. They keep saying 'they have a backlog', well I have a backlog of debts to pay & have just become unemployed so really need this cash.
I'm going to get onto the Financial Ombudsman but wondered if I can charge them interest on the money they owe me?
Any help?
Thanks.0 -
I can understand how annoying and frustrating this is for you all , but I note as well that A&L are the main ones sending out these questionaires to customers who have purchased finance from them, where this can be holding them back.
I know my brother in law been waiting since about Dec 2008 time.
I was saying that if there was a thing brought out , "such as every week they are late they should pay a little extra for late payments, call it a penalty for each week they don't pay out" I'm sure the payments would be sent out quicker then. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I have finally received my cheque from A & L. I have been waiting since February. I have been phoning constantly them the last 2 weeks and got a different story each time, some people said the cheque was sent out 2 weeks ago, others said it still needed to be authorised, someone else didn't have a clue etc etc.. The worst thing about this Alliance and Leicester cheque farce is that the automated message stating that all cheques will be sent out in the next 3 weeks is still playing over SIX weeks since they started playing it.0
