    I have finally received my cheque from A & L. I have been waiting since February. I have been phoning constantly them the last 2 weeks and got a different story each time, some people said the cheque was sent out 2 weeks ago, others said it still needed to be authorised, someone else didn't have a clue etc etc.. The worst thing about this Alliance and Leicester cheque farce is that the automated message stating that all cheques will be sent out in the next 3 weeks is still playing over SIX weeks since they started playing it.

    Finally :T
    Well done to you, Congratulations.:beer:

  • Hi we received a letter saying that we may be due some money back and to contact them asap , which we did, then got a letter back very quickly saying that they owed us £534. that was on the 19th Feb 09.

    It then took 5 phone calls and a letter to Caroline Walters, PPI Customer contact manager (detailing all calls and requesting an answer by return) we finally got the cheque at the end of May 09. Didn't get a reply to my letter complaining about bad customer service though;)

    Ring them write to them, pester them and they will send you your money.

    quick update ive received one cheque on the 17th june waiting on the 2nd one hopefully wont be much longer anyone else received theirs? didnt have to wait that long after all signed the agreement on 27th may so thats jst 3wks.
  • I posted my agreement off over a month ago. A week ago I phoned to ask how much longer my cheque would be. They told me that i had to fill out a loan re-application for them to prosses my cheque!!!! They had not bothered;
    1 sending me the form,
    2 telling me on the agreement paper that i needed to sighn this form.
    3 telling me when i rang to confirm thay had recived my agreement that i needed to sighn the form.
    As you can imagine I was furious. They sent me the form which i got in 2 days. I filled it out and sent it back. I rang to ask if they had recived it and they told me the loan re-application department was 14 days (thats working days) behind. So now i have to wait 14 working days or more for them to catch up, 10 working days after that to 'prossecs' my cheque 3 days for it to ome in the post and 5 working days for it to clear. Its been 11 weeks since they were first made away of my complaint. They have told me i will not recive any extra money for them being so late, yet i still have to make my payment to them this month and if i dont i will have my credit rating effected and i will face charges after 7 days. How is that fair? The aliance and lecister have done all they can to prolong paying the money. They dont care one bit when they make mistakes. Dot let them get away with it, make sure you phone everyday. They would phone you everyday if you owed them cash would they not?

    Hi there was this through FOS or sorted beforehand. If so then you need to tell them that you are having to pay out extra and they need to take consideration for this in the settlement. If going through FOS let us know. Take heart it will get sorted.;)
