Very cynical ............. but true.

Terrorism is another favourite media diversion. I see that Gordon is creating a KGB army to 'counter the threat from terrorists'.

Ms Smith told BBC One's Politics Show: "What we're completely clear about is that if we're going to address the threat from terrorism, we need to do that alongside the 60,000 people that we're now training up to respond to a terrorist threat, in everywhere from our shopping centres to our hotels.

Where is the real threat though? Over the last few years, NHS hospitals have been responsible for far more deaths in the UK than terrorists can claim throughout developed world. One hospital alone is reputedly responsible for an estimated 500 victims. Thanks to Gordon's 'investment' we now have the most over paid and over manned health service in the world.

I doubt if those who would be interested in bad economic news and political intrigue will form a significant sub-set of those spellbound by the Goody saga.

Did anyone see the big "announcement" on Newsnight the other day from Squire from the stone roses ,i thnk they were expecting them to say they were reforming, but he didnt! and it was just another opp for Squre to smirk at the cameras adnd promote his artwork. :rotfl:

My thoughts are with Jades family right now. I know that she was happy to have a " media " death to provide for her kids but the whole idea of magazines, over recent weeks, front paging Jades decline, is, to me, sickening.

What kind of person would be tempted to buy a rag that profiteered from a 27 year old mothers death? I find it all very saddening and an indication of the " nasty " society we have become.

I have to say Pobby that those magazines and images made me very impressed by Jade towards the end of her life. Previously I would have been one of the first to call her names.

When I was treated for melanoma I was 42 and presented with thoughts of my own mortality for the first time. All along I thought "but I'm too young to die". Although I'm absolutely fine now, I can't imagine what its like to have to face terminal cancer at 27 and with two young kids. I think she did an amazing job of staying positive, and if that media intrusion saves the lives of young women who were missing their smear tests, while providing a future for her sons, then fair play to her.

In the middle of the BBC's outpouring of grief for Jade, they should spare a thought for the families of the other people dying in that hospital who are finding the media scrum disruptive, distateful and distracting from their own private grief.

The whole business makes me want to vomit.

come off it, she's primarily responsible for keeping it all so consistently on the front page.
