is it gallons of oil flodding along the street or you finding any excuse to moan ? half the cars on the road leave a patch when parked up(just look in a car park ) do you moan at them given every opertunity
lets face it , you think its a eyesore becuase the car has a car on stands on his own drive , you want to jump on the enviromental issue fully aware once you mention oil in the drain he will get no end of trouble
get a life , and think how you'd like people causing trouble for you or your family
be carefull what you wish for ..it might come true
And what happens when all the fish are killed because of the pollution, or the postman slips on the oil slick and sues; worse still the environmental officer slips and breaks his clipboard:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
And if EA man finds an half used aerosol the green brigade will be after him for killing polar bears:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

All very true, pouring oil down a drain is illegal. But small amounts of oil on the ground are often unavoidable, particularly if draining it in strong winds. I suspect the original poster saw a small amount of oil and not the full 4.5 litres from the sump. Also, many cars leak oil anyway - just look in any supermarket car park - it's perfectly legal and MOT passable. The oil is the main issue here IMO.
That should simply not be going down the drain and there are provisions to dispose of it properly at almost every council recycling centre. His current method is quite illegal. You talk to your local environmental health about that.
I'm somewhat concerned about the car on four axle stands, I could understand if it was just a shell with no wheels on but it isn't.0 -
Just a thought Keith - if the motor is ready will you be attending pugfest this year?Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0

Wow, I guess I've been luckier with neighbours than I thought. Back in my old flat with a communal parking area I used to keep 3 old bangers as I wasn't rich enough to afford a nice car. I had one that worked, one as a backup incase my main car broke, and one that used to work and was now a parts car (yes I owned 3 Mark 4 Ford Escorts)
Didn't cause a problem with the neighbours, the two non runners were kept at the far back in the corner and I'd put a sign on the windscreen saying it was ok to block them in, thus there was no actual reduction in capacity.
One of my other neighbours then asked if I'd have a problem with her putting up a washing line up above the bonnets of my cars as it meant no-one could ever drive through her washing and thus she didn't have to use the tumble drier so much. I was perfectly ok with this and promised to move her washing if I needed to take a car out.
Just to further wind up any busybodys reading, I only had one insurance policy. I made sure to always pick an insurer that didn't charge for amendments to the policy and would just transfer the policy over to whichever car was running at the moment.
A broken car on someone's driveway. No-one's business but the owners.0
