I'm sure you didn't, Linda, or if you did she is probably on the phone to a plumber/boiler repairman.

It's my 12 year old (jasmine) she has glandular fever but she has developed tonsilitis on top of it. She was very sick when they took her in, she hadn't eaten in 9 days and stopped drinking so she was very very dehydrated. The GP did nothing despite the fact she had started passing out every time she moved to get up. So, I drove her to A&E.

She's getting better, her kidneys were in a bad way but she's had a ton of fluid and IV antibiotics etc so she's on the mend now. She ate a spoonful of yoghut yesterday and kept it down so I think we're over the worst.

Sounds awful Toto, I take it even when the dehydration and tonsilitis have calmed down the glandular fever will still take a while to recover from. My DS had roto?virus when he was tiny and docs were much the same, luckily my lovely health visitor got us into hospital. Hopefully she'll feel much better (even if still poorly) once she's a bit more hydrated but it's awful that it had to get that bad for her to get medical attention.

Glandular fever and tonsilitis, wow, poor girl. I'd get on and complain to your trust about the GP though, if you haven't already. It amazes me sometimes about how some GPs seem to miss things.

When I was 11, I started getting a pain in my right groin, top of my leg. Kept going back to the GP and he said it was muscular and perscribing ibuprofen, fast forward 4 months and I couldn't even walk on it. A different doctor came out for a home visit and sent me straight through to the hospital where an X-ray diagnoised an Unstable Slipped Capital Femoral Ephiysis (sp) where the growth plate has slipped off the head of the femur. I had an operation to put three screws in there, and apart from the torn cartilege which has developed over the last year, it's been ok.

I never forgave the GP for missing that, and since then I've been really mistrustful of GPs and am one to go for a second opinion if need be.

The Sun Sat 21 March 2009

A house in Poole was blown apart today when a boiler exploded.
Witnesses described how when the explosion occurred the owners bra was blown clear off and now hangs, charred and redundant from the lamp post.
that is soooooooo ironic - I've just had a bra throwing out session of all my knackered bras - it was a bit heartwrenching but had to be done :o
The road outside was littered with the smoky remains of Ann Summers products that are thought to have been drying out on top of the ill fated appliance.

The force of the blast has left the owner's 12 inch black vibromaster 3000 buried deep into the concrete of the wall opposite.
Can't be me - I don't shop at Ann Summers :pnot specialised enough :D
The lady was treated in the ambulance for shock, her once flame red hair now frazzled and black.
saves choosing a new colour to dye it and it is frazzled anyway!!!
Paramedics attempted to remove her nipple tassels which may unfortunately now be permanently melted on!
they were already permanently attached ;)
The RSPCA arrived shortly after the incident to retrieve her distressed but luckily unharmed dog from the neighbour's tree.

this was the force of the blast on the dog just as it happened..........or the sight of my bra flying through the air - probably thought it was an untethered barrage balloon!

Toto - sorry little one is so unwell, bless her. I used to get terrible tonisilitis as a kid, they wouldn't remove them though :(

Linda - nah, course not!!! Ihad the second batch of bras arrive and I was trying them on. I didn't want any of the first batch so they are all ready to go back on Monday, but I now have 5 lovely new bras to wear from the second batch :T OH is going to pay for them when the statement arrives as he owes me some money from the holiday. I threw away 6 bras which had one (or both) underwires missing as well as knackered clips. They had done me well - all M+S and were £2 each in the January sales a couple of years ago. They had been relegated to weekend/slobbing out wear but it was a bit like throwing away a security blanket as they were so comfortable.

They don't generally now unless you get bouts 4 or 5 times a year, each needing antibiotics.
