It was the usual 10 ish days.
Note there was a spanner in the works when I did it. I asked for a £12000 transfer from my Egg card and then at the end of the application was informed I got a £7000 limit. However they did not transfer the maximum 90% of the £7000. They said in the letter to apply again for the right number to transfer and then it went through ok. It was pretty fast for a BT at about 6 days.
I have since checked my account and there is no sign of a fee.0 -

Finally got my c/card yesterday and they've given me an £8000 limit.........fabulous! I can take even more pressure off myself and continue to bring down my debts without paying interest!0 -
Stoozing on charity cards is fine - they get paid by the banks for opening the account, and for spending. The charities never have to pay anything to the banks.
Harley Davidson Card
I have one of these cards but let me tell you a funny story...
Firstly I applied online, using the link from this site - on the very last page, clicked submit and I received an error. Server busy or something, and it gave me a phone number to call for support. I call it and the woman from Bank of Scotland said she had never heard of a Harley Davidson card, and transfered me to another depatment who said the card was old, and they no longer promoted it, BUT I could apply if I wanted (!?!). So I said OK, and she took my details and said she'd post a form to me.
The form never applied, but the credit card landed on my doorstep a few days later. Seems the online application had worked anyway. I have now successfully transfer a healthy balance with NO FEE to the card.
No wonder real bikers call these "hardly able, son"0 -

Does anyone know if any of these cards can be used to pay off a personal loan?? Bought our conservatory on 12 months interest free credit and it's due to be paid in June so could do with transferring if it's possible
ThanksIf you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

It is possible that they will allow you to have more than one. I have both a Halifax One card and the new MacMillan card. However it is by no means certain.
They will NOT let you do a balance transfer between two of their own cards (ie anything operated by HBOS including Halifax and all the charity cards) so if you are looking for a second one to balance transfer from the one you already have you will not be able to do so. They state this explicitly during the application process.0 -

You can't extract money directly to a loan provider/current account from these cards. From the back of my statement (first one, arrived today):
"Transfers can only be made from credit and store cards and cannot be made from loan companies and bank accounts."
To get money out you would have to obtain a card with Super Balance Transfer (SBT) capability, which would allow you to balance transfer from your loan or overdraft, and then transfer this balance to your charity card. A good example would be Egg Money. Have a read of some of the articles referred to on this board before you start!0 -
Thanks for the info, no i want another card to bt to egg money then into my one account offset mortgage
i have all the the other 9 month cards so i may have to apply for the 6 month next, it really does help keep the interest down in my mortgage account
