Aren't we still milking the CC provider (ie Halifax)? I read that the charity receive money from Halifax for BT and so they gain from stoozing (and for the initial opening of the card)?

From the MacMillan site - "Take out a Macmillan Platinum MasterCard today and Bank of Scotland will contribute £5 to Macmillan every time a Card is first used and £5 again if the Card is still in use after 12 months. Plus Macmillan receives 25p for every £100 spent on the Card and it won't cost you a penny extra."

They might not gain much, but I don't think MacMillan will lose out in any scenario.

Wonder if the BT counts as first use? Or even as a spend? Would be nice if they get something from my stooze.

Applied for the Macmillan card online today and was accepted instantly with a good credit limit,

Ginger, you were given a credit limit on acceptance, unusual these days, usually get acceptance, and credit limit in the post with the contract to sign.

    A good CLimit - is this c£10k ?

Yes, I was surprised. It came up on screen as "blah blah blah pleased to accept you with a credit limit of x..." Obviously credit agreement is to follow for signature.

CL was 6k - considering I just got 3k from HSBC I thought this was pretty good. I'm not quite up to the 10k heights yet as I've moved around a fair bit in the last few years unfortunately.

The Halifax One card is the same as the Bank of Scotland One Card, both of which have 12/3 months but a 2% fee. The Harley card is 9/9 months and no fee, I think.

I was told on the phone this afternnon that the BoS One card has a £50 cap on the fee although i can't see that in the T's & C's. This is the same as the Halifax One card.

    Harley Davidson Credit Card

I was going to apply Credit card from Inteligent Finance web site, it looked like the same as on Harley Davidson web site , then i contacted their customer service and got phone number for customer services that is 08003896677, which is Halifax card services number but they do have record of ur Harley Davidson application and u can enquire them about ur card that comes under Halifax card services(all Charity cards mentioned above) they did also confirm that they give u instant credit limit indication at the end of application process online.
  • Nice to see that Martin has updated the 'Best Balance Transfers' article to include these cards. The news also made the newsletter. He obiously agrees with me that theses cards are the best for BTs right now. :D

BTW I got a 7k limit with the Macmillan card, I recently got 6k with Lloyds and 2k with RBS, so it compares well.
