You don't have to pay the linen charge, you could take your own pillowcases, duvet covers and sheets if you prefer.

The service charges were in the information the sun gave before you booked, we all have to pay them - some of us are paying for entertainment passes too. My extras bill was for £67 and that's for a 3 night break.

Posted our coupons off on the Saturday when the 7th token was in. Just had Butlins booking sheet arrive. Got our first choice (Skegness) and 3rd choice date (22nd June) for 4 nights. Extra service charge, entertainment passes and linen etc. but good value overall for a 4 night holiday. Certainly cheaper then booking direct.

Is the Silver upgrade worth it? Just seems like an extra Microwave and Toaster to me (which probably won't use) and probably better wallpaper / duvet covers?

It was all in the info RE: service charges etc

Didn't expect to get a 3 or 4 night break for 4 people for £60 all in did you ?! lol

I think cazxx1 thinks it 4x the charge.
Don't worry it will be 1x £36 service charge not 4x. Hope I've understood corectly!!

Has anyone who POSTED a form heard back yet? Looks like they haven't even taken the cheque yet :P...

    Hi Aless

I sent a postal form and my cheque was cleared today. However, as a first timer I am unsure if this means I got my hol or not! I haven't received anything in writing yet.......

Let me know how you get on.

We upgraded last year when we went to Skegness to silver. Think it cost an extra £50. Glad I did as my friend stayed in standard and I felt an extra £50 was good for the apartment we got. Silver do tend to be further away from the complex though but this wasnt a problem for us. There seemed to be a big difference between standard and silver

We went on a Sun holiday a couple of years ago and at the reception they asked if we wanted an upgrade for £20. I said no but I'm pretty sure we got the upgrade anyway for nothing. So if you've not got anything to lose you might want to risk not getting an upgrade but I suppose if you've got allergies then probably better not to risk it. Most of the older vans we've been in have had a microwave. I can only remember one van that didn't and we've never upgraded.

    Hope this helps.
