Better check up on this one with park youre travelling to or telephone booking line as im sure there is a £20 admin charge if you update on arrival rather than beforehand.
Had a feeling it might be about £20. Thanks for this

When we went to Devon Cliffs the children loved the bus ride( double decker often) into Exmouth, the bus runs from the site. We also LOVED Crealy( sure thats what it was called????) about 20 mins drive- an adventure park...log flume etc also animals.Ou children ranged then from 4-7 at the time, but would still go back there with my 10year old. We went each year!0

I upgraded before we travelled to the park the number to call is on the booking details you get in the post. I think it was an extra £60, but we figured it was worth it for the better than bog standard caravan. But we ended up in a modern caravan with full central heating (never knew they existed!), a balcony/terrace with furniture, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster and the best bit - all beds were made up for us prior to arrival :j I am not sure of what standard of van this was, but i remember being quoted £120 for one of the highest upgrade options :eek:0

If you booked online, it would have offered you a park and date before you paid so you have definately got it, they normally e-mail you the same day confirming the park and date. I got back from Devon Cliffs on friday and had a lovely time. We didn't bother upgrading but was pleasantly surprised with our caravan. We got a privately owned 3 bedroom with heating and there was only 3 of us. We were located in Juniper which is very close to the main complex. My 9 year old loved the football, archery, wall climbing and swimming pool. He made a few friends through just having a game of footie on the astro. The food from Sonny Jims was ok, it was fairly quiet and only had to wait a few minutes. We popped our heads in Bugsys one night but was packed and never bothered with the Capones bar. The Beachcomber cafe was nice to sit outside and look out to sea. The adventure golf looked good but was always busy when we went by. They also had board brushing which looked fun. There was paint balling, laser tag, and fencing but we never did any of those. We probably wouldn't go again but only just because we think Primrose Valley has more to offer and isn't has far away.0

I received my confirmation from Pontins Brean Sands for The Sun £15 holidays after sending off the minimum £60, they says they have only received £38 deposit and I still owe £22 for the chalet. I was expecting the service charges to be an extra cost, but why havent they taken the full £60 as a deposit?Has anyone else had this problem?0

Do not know about your query but just wanted to say that I went here 2 yrs ago and unfortunately was not very impressed
(sorry) Don't want to put a downer on you looking forward to your holiday but I personally found it quite dirty, the bed was broken, the fridge 'moaned' all night, the taps on the sink dripped! We eventually spent the whole holiday laughing at how rubbish it was and couldn't stop giggling in the middle of the night because we couldn't sleep through all the creeking and dripping Lol!! I hope it has improved since we went and that you have a wonderful holiday and if it anything like our holiday, then hopefully you will just laugh it off like we did
xx On the plus side, we happened to bump into Joe Absolum at the service station nearby, so I was a happy lady anyway Lol:rotfl:Has anyone else had this problem?[/QUOTE]Stacyl1977:EasterBun0 -
hi i went to brean pontins june last year and it was the accomadation nightmares are made off when we arrived it smelt of damp/musty and found the double bedroom and ceiling in washroom had damp(2members of party asthmatic so not good start) dirty floors and walls someone chose to blow their nose on the wall and had not been cleaned, double matress was about an inch thick (resulting in 2hrs sleep anight and bad back)bedding and pillows where stained as so old, window didnt shut on complaining was told the only option was to be upgraded as there was no other accomadation available at a cost of course they only had gold accomadation left which would be £300, no thanks, so we where forced to make the decision to stay or leave if it was up to us adult we would of left but the kids wanted to stay and how do you tell a 8year old we are not staying, we went to the shop and got items to clean chalet our selfs to make it as livable as poss we ended up eating out in the eve after taking meals with us so would recommend planning on eatting out and pack lunch bags/boxes for picnics all in all the facilities and surrounding facilities made the holiday so not all bad and the kids enjoyed themselfs so that was main thing for us think it was us adults who was sleep deprived and in pain(bad backs),on arrival home i wrote to the sun newspaper explaing the situation we where in and they replied stating that they only bring the offer its the company you go with who is responsible althought i understand to a point its the parks problem i think there should be some sort of vetting from the sun as they choose what companies they put on their list and pontins response was sorry you didnt enjoy your accomadation. i would go back to the area but not pontins.0
