Pizza Express Vouchers Discussion

When I was mystery shopping I ate a fair few Pizza Express pizzas, and I really like the romana pizzas - the bases are properly thin and crispy, like a good Italian pizza should be. Failing that, the Soho, Padana and Fungi di Bosco are all good choices, as they're not too stodgy. The mushroom bruscetta starter is lovely, but the salads and pasta are just ok, IMO. They used to do a really nice pudding of baby figs in spiced syrup with thick cream, but that's been discontinued, so if I have space for pudding I usually just have the vanilla icecream with an espresso poured over.2015 comp wins - £370.25

Hi,
I love Pizza Express, and my favourite is the Pollo Ad Astra. The last four or five times, I've had the Pizza on a Romana base for the extra £1.50. The first couple of times, it was fantastic, but the last few times, it seems that the Pizza covering is spread REALLY thinly - in effect, the standard volume of ingredients spread over the larger base.
Now, I don't mind that trick in general, but in this case I'm paying for it, which means my extra £1.50 is paid to stretch out the Pizza base!!
Am I being short-changed by these people?!
Any advice as to the Romana 'policy' from insiders would be much appreciated.

Pizza Express in West Hampstead always has good food and is a spacey restaurant.:rotfl:0

The caffe reale was the best dessert. Baby figs in syrup over marscapone served with your choice of coffee. Now its been replace by semifreddo. The semifreddo is not the best I've ever had. And it varies in different pizza express by the temperature of their freezer.
I always go for a romana base, its thin and crispy and more authenically italian. I quite like the salsiccia, but have to guard my sausage against invasions by my daughter! Theo's Favourita is quite yummy too.
I don't go for the lasagna or other pasta as they are frozen.
I have been to: St.Albans (bad service) Welwyn Garden City, Watford (always busy), Radlett, Mill Hill, Stanmore, Barnet. All except St.Albans were great. I like that each one is a bit different inside, some are in historic buildings, some are modern.0 -
I am a big fan of Pizza Express, especially the fiorentina pizza. I have coeliacs disease so do miss eating pizza, but at Pizza Express I just take in my own base and they do the rest. they are always very helpful whichever branch I go to.
Highly recomended

Have to say they know how to make you feel good....went there for a Mystery shop.I had a voucher for free bottle of wine ( from one of the olive oil promotions a while back)which I offered up as we ordered, but asked if they had any bottles with screw caps(how sad am I? ) as we only wanted a glass as one of us had to drive and the other couldn't drink all the wine...they offered us a full unopened bottle to take away...great we thought...but it gets better...they weren't all that busy but there was a table of solictors that had demanded speedy service and a small birthday party that were causing a spot of bother, so our service was delayed somewhat...when it came to paying, our money was refused as way of an apology( they did not know I was a Mystery Shopper as I had never been there before)I knew I had to get a receipt in order to claim my money for the visit, but there was no way the manager would take it...I tried and tried...but he just handed me the bottle of wine and kept apologising...I reported back and still got paid in full for the visit and travel expenses...doesn't get any better than that...0

I find Pizza Express is good. Im a vegan and never have problems eating there. The bases are vegan and I have the giadenere (unsure of spelling) with the tomato base (the pesto has cheese in) and no cheese and they are really fresh tasty pizzas.
Went on Orange Weds and they did the dough balls with a balsamic dip for me.
Always friendly staff and very helpful towards vegan customers.
I think the 2 4 1 vouchers are great and have been twice in the past month and had a take a way too.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

In support of others on this site, I adore Pizza Express, for me it is grown up pizza as I dislike the stodgy bases flogged by other chains.
I have taken groups of kids there on an educational visit where they get to make and eat pizzas and it has always been a joy going.
Hubby complains about the price of bottles of beer but I do always enjoy a meal there and I am delighted to have found this discounted meal on the site and will be there today or tomorrow to make sure I take advantage.0 -
I love Pizza Express and am annoyed that Tesco has just added it to the Clubcard deals. I had a heap of vouchers and couldn't find anything I wanted to spend them on so finally caved in and used them at Tesco (where I generally don't shop any more because ASDA is so much better) and then ... Aaaaaargh!!!! Oh well, enjoy it the rest of you.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0
