Thanks to OP for this, I always sent my phones off to Tescos for the clubcard points but it looks like I could get more doing it this way. I've got a Nokia 7600 which at the beginning of this thread was going for £46 but is now at £21...wonder what it will be when I get my new cash back contract next month and want to cash in my phone. Still its better than nothing and as Mr T says every little helps.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0

Just a word of caution on the whole envirofone issue. I sent off my Nokia 7650 having first charged it and checked it still worked. Envirofone have just e-mailed to advise my 7650 won't turn on and is now worth £3.21 instead of the original £20 odd pounds.
I've requested it's return to verify the IMEI (Phones serial) number matches the one sent (Not that I'm cynical or anything)0 -
Has anybody tried mobile2cash.co.uk, they seem to have better prices.
I cant find any feedback on them.
comparison on a nokia 6230
mobile2cash - £46 (functioning)
envirofone -£32 (functioning)
mopay - £42 (A1 condition)
let me know how you have got on if you have used them.0 -
I’ve used mobile2cash twice in the past and both times my phone has not passed as ‘functioning’. I found the response is slow and was not particularly impressed with the customer service – I personally will not be using them again. I’ve been using envirofone recently and I have found the service to be the best so far informing me of progress along the way. The members area is really useful and allows me to see what I’ve traded and how much they have paid me.
If your phones do not work envirofone will offer a lower value or return them to you or recycle them free of charge. Alternatively you could try taking them to Tesco to receive Clubcard points or go to http://www.actionaidrecycling.org.uk/.0 -
Has anyone used 'community fonebak' for recycling their old mobiles. It is run by dixons and " for each phone that can be resold you will receive £4 cash or £5 dixons voucher"
Looking at trying to raise some funds for a charity but wanted to know if they were ok or not. Thanks0 -

I have used Mobile2Cash before and found them to be very compromising on what they consider a "functioning" phone. I believe they also give you a few days to contest their decision... did you do this? Might have been a good idea if you felt you were wronged. When I sent my phones in I was informed by email of exactly what was going on along the way.
You also mention Action Aid and Tesco... as far as I know the company that runs Mobile2Cash also runs these two schemes along with many others and do a lot of work with charity (www.greenersolutions.com), so I'm sure that if you had actually questioned their decision they would have been more than happy to help if an error had occured.0 -
I checked on envirofone and 2 of my phones were only worth under £4 in total:rotfl: then checked Mopay .... total for the 2 = £10:T I have another that is worth over £50 on envirofone and less than that on Mopay.
Is it just me or do Mopay offer better prices on older models? And envirofone seem to offer better prices on newer models
Edit ... just going to have a root around and see what other mobiles I have lying around!I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!I thunk I've made you think for a minute!:j :rotfl: :j0 -
I sent my functioning Samsung T100 off to Mobile2cash.co.uk on the 14th July 2006, after hearing nothing from them and not receiving payment of £12 they said on their website I emailed them on 15th August, never received a reply to that either.
I have just emailed them again today, but i dont hold out much hope of hearing from them, anyone have any idea what I should do next?
Needless to say I'll never use them again, and am just glad my phone was only worth £12 and not £112Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 126 :j

Hi Rallya, similar thing happened to me with mobile2cash
I sent in my nokia 7610 in july to be paid £72.50 for it. When I wasn't paid by the given date I left it a further week then phoned them. They are owned by greener solutions ltd see link
http://www.greenersolutions.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=142
The man on the phone checked the records and stated that they hadn't received my phone !!!!! before I could panic tho he said that he would have to pay me regardless ... 5 days later I was £72.50 better off.
hope this helps :-)0
