I agree with others though. Because of this very good post phones have plummeted in price.0 -

I wouldn't rely on Orange cashback if you have to register the same within I thin 30 or 60 days and topup and then it will validat and some point. Tracking can take a considerable number of weeks too.0 -
I received my cheque from envirofone yesterday and I did get it in about 10 days, not as fast as mopay but still happy with it.
One thing to note is, if you say you're going to send a phone and don't and you then request your cheque\points they won't send it. i had to ring after the 14 days, find out why the cheuqe hadn't been sent and then the phones I hadn't actually sent them where cancelled and the process began. Just a though for those who've send a lot of phones.
Still, I'm happy with envirofone.0 -

It's up to you if you want to "risk" just posting it at a pillar box as clearly you will have no proof of postage.no1-stunna wrote:please help do you post at a pillar box or at a post office?
If you look further back in this thread from about post #140 there is a discussion about the pros & cons of sending recorded / registered.
Obviously, it is better if you post it at a Post Office as at least you can request a certificate of posting which you can use to make a claim (up to £32) if your phone does go missing.

how much does it cost to post a phone anyway?0
-
According to tunesurfer, he used the normal Freepost address and just had to pay the recorded premium (currently 68p) :no1-stunna wrote:how much does it cost to post a phone anyway?

However, according to iecuk:
If you were to pay to send your phone, the cost would obviously depend on how much it weighs (probably not very much !) and whether you were sending accessories, charger etc. Plus, depending on how much it's worth, you'd need to decide which service to use - check out the Royal Mail website for details of it's postal services and prices.iecuk wrote:The problem with using a 'signed for' service is that it can't be sent to the freepost address. This means you have to pay the full P&P costs.
Personally, I find that recorded is no more reliable than standard first / second class service, and the insurance levels are exactly the same whether it is recorded or not. Instead of paying the extra for Recorded delivery, obtain a free proof of posting as this will cover you just as well as your recorded slip should you need to make a claim.

I think I'd go along with iecuk and just send it Freepost and request a certificate of posting, especially if it's worth less than £32.
