    :hello: Good afternoon!

have just read today's thread but not read all of yesterday's yet.

Special (((((HUGS))))) to Halight - thinking of you.

Celyn90 - You go, girl! We all need to rebel now and then. Have a great time in korea, whether it's a holiday or work-related.

mioliere - Don't know if you'll see this, but safe journey, and we look forward to seeing you back online again very soon! :hello:

((((HUGS)))) to meanmarie, moneysavingdiva, penny_pincher and everyone else who needs one.

VickyA Sorry I missed your birthday, hope it was a happy one and that your DMum is doing well.

    Happy Birthday EssexGirl :bdaycake:

    Welcome to our new posters.:hello:

It's been a bit of an odd week this week, and I've had things on my mind other than OS - I had a mammogram a few weeks ago and got recalled to have an ultrasound and a biopsy - thankfully I was told today that all's well :j :j :j

The other thing was that we found out our son-in-law was made redundant a couple of weeks ago - DD2 had hoped not to have to tell us until he'd found something else, but as he's only qualified in banking stuff that's not going to happen very fast this time! I think/hope they have mortgage propection insurance, and DD2 is a paediatric community nurse so she has been doing extra nights to bring some money in. DSIL wasn't with his last company that long, so got only 6 weeks' pay - though I know that's a lot more than some folk have got. It's a job to know how to help - I'd like to get them some nappies and that sort of thing but we don't want to look as if we're being Lord and Lady Bountiful  At least I usually buy new shoes for the LOs when needed, so that's something. I think some Pampers might just accidentally fall into the trolley next time we're in Asda though :p

On the OS side I have at least managed to cook and do a bit of cleaning:o so not a complete lost cause!

    all for now

Just got back from the hospital, the transport was late picking us up, so I had to phone and tell them we were coming. OH saw the Dr. Nothing on either the brain scan or the ear scan, but the balance tests showed disrurbance in the balance mechinism in his left ear. He has to go for vestibular rehabilitiation..........and physio, a series of exercises which he will have to do at home. The Dr warned that they could make him worse for a start, but 12 - 18 months should see a vast improvement, its a slow process retraining the brain.

I am shattered......very tired, exhausted in fact, tomorrow I am doing nothing except eat and sleep.........I need to build up my strength and erergy levels to cope with the move.

As I have said before I think moving n here was not a good move, he has been so much better since we took the decision to move out. I really think the place we depressing him as well as me, but he would not say anything because he thought it would wupset me. Believe me I would do anything to have things as they were 12 months ago..........what it costs does not matter as long as we can get back some sort of life again.

Herb omlettes for supper with salad, I have some really nice pears I think I will just poach a couple in some champagne........and have them with cream, yummy...............

OH is in bed with a dizzy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

((((HUGS)))) csarina, not long now and you'll be out of there and in your new home:j

If the exercises your DH is given to do are the ones I had to do when I had vertigo, they really were a great help, though I admit I was sceptical to begin with. Best wishes to him.

    Afternoon all

Been really busy today, got all the beds made up for DS1,DIL and DGD's for the weekend, everything cleaned and dusted and toy-box out and sitting in the lounge ready for the girls.

Went to MrM's to get some shopping, and realised we wont see the girls before Easter so we got them a Ba..i mug with a small egg in, why they love everything pink and Ba..i I dont know:confused: also got a chocolate Button egg for our new DGS.

Got home and had Tiger bread cobs with mature cheese and tomato on yummmm.... the cheese is an offer they have on 200g for £1, its well dated and lovely tasting, sells out quickly though.

When all that was done I had a happy hour or so sorting a HUGE bag of wool out that my Friends SIL gave me yesterday, its so kind of her to think of me and will knit up loads of things for the premature babies and children with nothing, also very OS.;)
People are always saying "I have a few balls I was going to throw away" and when I ask if they would mind if I had them they always say yes but nothing ever comes of it, probably my fault for being cheeky:o

    (((hugs)))csarina x
Celyn - have a great time in Korea, and enjoy yourself tonight :T
ivyleaf - tricky isnt it trying to help and not making it too obvious, maybe its a case of "they had an offer too good to miss"
sistercas - that M&S offer looks mmmmm

Well OH is looking at me.....do you think he is hungry:rolleyes:

  • Evening all,

Thank you so much for all the kind welcomes - you are such a lovely bunch!

Hugs to all that need or want them.

I am so glad that its Friday - only about 2 hours sleep last night cos I couldn't get my brain to switch off  !

Not so much OS today - came home, put WM on with work gear, took book back to library (Notts now has a copy of Tightwad Gazette II as they had to buy it in when I put in a request :D ), came home, washed pots, hung work gear on shower rail, put WM on again with bathroom & bedroom mats, had HM Quorn bolognese for tea, hung mats on airer - nothing very exciting.

Hopefully the weather is going to start picking up now - we had a couple of miserable days earlier this week, but today was lovely.

Tomorrow I am planning to walk to town and back (and do some shopping), and then in the afternoon, if it is nice, I am going to take my eldest niece to the park before spending the evening babysitting. If I don't get on here, it will be because my sister hasn't left her laptop out for me.

By the way, does anyone on here do scrapbooking? One of the things that my overactive brain came up with when I was trying to sleep last night was an idea to combine my interest in family history with scrapbooking, but I don't really know much about it. Can you buy a magazine about it, like you can with cross stitch or knitting?

Lack of sleep is making itself apparent, so I shall love you and leave you, and wish you all well until tomorrow.

    Hi guys,

I have trimmed the hedge :j :j :j :rotfl: :rotfl: I have put it off for so long and forced myself to do it today and it was a doddle!! It was really quite theraputic in a way - quite a few imaginary heads were chopped off! It's not the straightest hedge in the world but it will do. :D The back has been mown and so this weekend will weed the beds and generally tidy up there. I am going dog-walking with my sis tomorrow and will call in B&Q on the way back an pick up some plants for the pots and borders. I need a strimmer so I think we will pop in to Argos for that as I have some vouchers left to use. Two big jobs left out there now - to pressure wash the slabs and to scrub down the benches and table and then paint them.

The house has had it's usual clean through and we had fridge roulette for tea with some hash browns. I have pulled a large trout out of the freezer and should get a rice concoction, fish pie and a dinner out of it tomorrow.

Mr A will be delivering tomorrow evening and it is just under £50. I will be aiming to keep the shopping somewhere around this level each week from now on.

Happy birthday Essex-girl.  xxx

Good luck Mioliere and have a safe journey, I am sooooo jealous. xxx

    Celyn, enjoy Korea. xxx

Gentle hugs to Meanmarie, Csarina, MSD and Tristan, Pen-pin, Betheebee and to all else who would like or need one. xxx

Right off to browse Argos for my strimmer,

    Good night all.

csarina...sorry to hear that it is going to be an ongoing thing with your OH, at least when the exercises start to have an effect he (and you) will start to have a better quality of life, the move once accomplished will help with that I am sure...for the meantime, hugs to you both
