  • Hello again!

Just woken up again thanks to Treacle throwing up everywhere! yuck2.gif

Good luck with the move Mioliere - my OH is desperately jealous, he adores France and would move there tomorrow if he could!
Ravy - wow you were up early this morning hon!
hgballoons.gifEssex-girl! sorry I missed it earlier, I thought I checked the birthday list but obviously missed your name completely! Hope you have a great time!
Moggins - It's hard but you will feel so much better once the forms are filled in. Just bite the bullet and do them all in one go and then have a big cry or scream or whatever makes you feel better! Other people on here are giving you great advice so I know that must help.
Squiggles - Where are you hon? Missing you.

We went to M & S and picked up the large Oakham chicken, a large tray of roasties and the sticky toffee pudding. Plus the two bottles of Elderflower presse which look nice. I am not sure what makes this meal deal worth an extra £5 over the normal one, but as I had vouchers it didn't cost me anything anyway and Sunday lunch is now sorted!

I hope they can sort my diabetes with diet too but having been morbidly obese for so many years now, that would kind of make it obvious I do not do diets very well! Have run the Dr and am waiting for him to ring back, as I have a couple of questions.

Enjoy your days! Hugs to everyone.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Little bear dragged me to the post office. I had to use reins as pushchair in boot of car. :o

MSD - my darling uncle is diabetic, and I am not sure of his weight but he is quite the opposite of slim. He just keeps an eye on what he eats and manages fine. The only thing I would stress is that it is vital to keep up your eye checks as he is losing his sight and it was neglecting the eye checks at the early stages. Also, he was diagnosed diabetic in 1987 and is still happily pottering around. It is doable.

Taking a five minute sanity break before back into the fray - little bear is not doing naps. I am feeling less than top form, but little bear is full of the joys of spring. He has just had a play out, and I'm exhausted.

  • Hi Everyone,

Another beautiful day here, really warm and sunny and I wish I was in beer garden instead of my roasting hot office:beer:
Just had some Hm soup which tasted like crap, not sure what went wrong but I will not be having that again:eek:
My 'new' Dyson arrived this morning from eBay, very excited as we are trying to get all the new stuff we need for the new house as second hand or freecycle. Mum has promised me a kitchen table she has in storage too.

Good luck to Moiliere in France, it will be fab, hope the move goes well:D

Picking up younger sis tonight so she can stay tonight. She is goin home for weekend but requested a stop over with me before Mum gets her tomorrow. Will be good as we always have a laugh together.
Very little OS today unfortunatly but hoping to do some baking this weekend although there is about 6 hours of rugger to watch so it may get sidelined until Sun:rolleyes:

    Happy birthday to Essex Girl
Fairy Elephant, try and stay positive lady.

Hope everyone is having a fab Friday!

    .

I second that Sybil. Apparently my diabetic mum woke up blind one day and luckily managed to get her sight back. She soon gave up going to the regular diabetic clinics after diagnosis due to being overweight and never managed her diet properly nor took any exercise. She is/was on insulin (not sure of her state now as we are no longer in contact) and the last I heard she seemed to get larger and larger everytime I saw her which no doubt lead to her complications. It is a manageable condition not an illness and you can still have a good quality life with treats if you take care and consult medical help regularly.

The one thing I am grateful it has taught me to be VERY careful what I eat and I am paranoid about putting weight on as I do not know if it runs in the family due to mother being adopted and can at least do all I can to prevent the obesity cause factor.

    Afternoon all,

OH had to go to day hospital for blood check this morning as clotting factor was high on Wednesday, lower to-day but still not wonderful...probably a result of all the (forbidden) wine he had in Sardinia...difficult to medicate for, I feel that they had a 'go' at him on Wednesday about the wine, can't ask but he is the only one who can decide whether to have a drink or not and I am too long in the tooth now to bother nagging!

    Essex girl....happy birthday :bdaycake:

Mioliere....good luck with your move, there are many plus points to this move for you and your family, the world is now a much smaller place and with Skype you can keep in visual touch all the time...haven't been in France for years and not sure how my French would cope now...tend to dither into Italian when I try a little these days!

JackieO....glad to be reminded of how positive a person you are...same goes for you Halight.

Moggins....Do not let your ex bully you into anything....thought that he had accommodation where he works, you need the house for you and the children so tell him to go and have a running jump! Take the advice that has been given by others who are more au fait with UK law than I am.

MSD...sorry to hear about the possible diabetes....seems to happen a lot these days...take care of yourself.

csarina....interested in how you dried beans and keep them in jars....will get back to you on that if I manage to have a healthy crop this year, love beans and would like an alternative to freezing as hopefully there will be too many! Think that this might be the year when I finally buy a dehydrator, as last year I did what I could with the oven but still ended up giving away far more apples than I wanted to do.

Having ham with cabbage and potatoes for dinner, stewed apples with something for pudding...now cook ham with onion, garlic ( my own wild garlic to-day!) carrots, celery and then make soup when I take out the meat and veg required for to-day's dinner...works well, but soup may not be so popular if this nice weather continues.

Thanks for that information Sybil...he seems fine to-day but want to clobber him at times when he is being a boor! Take it easy until you have recovered fully from those extractions.

have a nice afternoon and evening all

    Marie

    Right - that's it :)

I have just skived three hours and been shopping. I *never* go shopping. I have a new handbag, a pair of shoes and a perfume. And tonight I'm going out with the girls (well, mainly guys). I fully intend to eat tapas and drink cocktails until I can't see straight :D:D

    I think I'm rebelling.

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No OS either today (well, apart from switching on the washing machine at 6am as I left for work :D ).

Have a good weekend all. I'm going to Korea next week, so if I don't get on-line, have a good week too :)

another sunny day which has got to make most people smile!

Well I washed the car this morning and used the water butt water to rinse it off as couldnt jusify using tap water- do wonder if the £2 sainsburys wash works out cheaper as not paying for the water as do at home . anyway was nice to do in the sun and some good excercise

    Hi all.

Sunny here but chilly out of the sun,bet it goes cold tonight.I wanted to put some washing out but couldnt find the washing line, will have to ask DH tonight-no doubt buried in the garage somewhere.

The house is now tidy again, its funny how it gets so messy when DH and DSons are around  DS1 has been to collect a parcel that he missed, and is now having a shower before going to see his DF,so he won't be eating with us .I'm going to make a frittata for tea.I had hm carrot and coriander soup for lunch.I cant decide whether to freeze the other portion or leave it out for DS2-he's always starving when they get home from work and it'll 'put him on' till tea is ready and stop him mithering me.

I've borrowed my old food processor back off DS fiancee,(she doesnt use it much)as I'm waiting for a part for my Kenwood,I ordered it at the start of Feb,rang up when it hadnt arrived and was told the 5th March, now its 17th April  (allegedly).Wouldnt care -the part is only £3.99,but cant chop without it,and my soup stock was getting lower and lower,so Ds brought the old one back.I gave it her because I had 2-one was from my MILs when she died which looked more modern so I kept that one but it wasnt a patch on my old one,(an old Pifco model, built like a tank and must be well over 20 years old)which is why I ended up getting the Kenwood just after Christmas and took MILs to a charity shop.

Anyway,I shall wish you all a lovely weekend.xx
Mioliere, good luck with the move, hope you get back online soon.
