Hi bluebird,
It seems a little corner has been turned - things are going your way ... :T
I am pleased for you that BT are refunding your money. You will find that you will gradually get stronger and will take these little hiccups head on and get them sorted without batting an eyelid!
I had a similar thing with Orange with the call abroad charges. My special rate sim card stopped working for a couple of weeks and instead of 7p a minute I was being charged £1.25. I only realised when it used all my credit twice and they owed me £55. It took 2 months and some very heated calls before I got it back. I don't need it now, so all back to normal.
I would stay well away from my diary for a couple of days - this was the week from hell and we can't have you getting down again, which is exactly where my diary will send you at the moment.....
Hugs

Oh dear, just read your diary! It never rains....
Just realised that my car seems to have the same problem as yours! No point in even thinking about it, there simply is no money to fix it, so it has to hold up for now...
Did long dog walk today and got a lot of ironing done, still feeling positive and the 'panicy' feeling has subsided for now.
Just a bit worried about this site closing for several days.... willbe very lonely.:o0 -
Hello all,
my 10 year old was today formerly diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrom. Our consultant has suggested that I may want to apply for DLA for him.
If he gets awarded anything the money would presumably be paid to me (due to his age). Would this affect my SOA?
Thinks are difficult here at the moment, due to my son's condition (he gets very anxious and angry, breaks a lot of things...)
The car is still running (slowly)....
Hope you are all keeping well!0 -
DLA is a grey area as some OR's seem to think it can be used for an IPA,others don't. I would claim it and hope for the best. You can always tweek your SOA a little;)Free impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hi bluebird,
Sorry to hear about the latest news, but I expect it is a relief that it has been formally diagnosed despite what you have probably suspected anyway.
I would certainly claim the dla and worry about the OR afterwards. You may well get a nice one who lets you use it for what it is intended - to ease and improve things for you and your son. It seems inhumane to use dla as a way of paying back creditors but who are we to reason why?
I hope you are keeping well despite the hiccups and have a lovely Easter weekend.
Thinking of you

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis for your son.
Take care

hello all and thanks for your comments,
ha posted another thread on the forum regarding the possibility of OR using (the not yet awarded) DLA my son may receive for his condition to set up an IPA.
I had many interesting applies, the general consensus is that ORs are human and will NOT take into account DLA money awarded to a child. I would add a link, as many of you do, but I do not know how.... sorry...
Anyway, DebtDoctor agrees that Children's DLA is usually not touched, so I feel free to apply for it. I realise he may not be awarded any, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...
Had a good day today, enjoyed the sunshine... My teenage daughter spent all her birthday money on a new phone... Oh dear, this could have paid for our food bill for over a week! Funny that - about a year ago I would not have blinked over such a purchase... now it makes my stomach jump...
Have still not filled out any forms, will have to soon, before my holiday is over. Think that at the moment the worries over my child have taken priority over the worries regarding BR. There are only so many hours in each day and I need juggle the worries around all my other commitments, lol!
Phone is still unplugged and letters keep coming. So far no debt collecting agencies, phew!0 -
You'll get there Bluebird. That is the reason I opted to print out my forms and do them by hand - I could just do them whenever I felt like it and more often that not I was at the dining room table where there is no computer. The first page is easy - name, address etc. You then feel as if you've started them.
Good luck with the DLA.

yes i did mine by hand too. Used one copy as a rough one to practice on then just copied it when i was happy with it. Like FYP says i felt the odd 5 mins here and there worked wonders, never felt too bogged down;).DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau
