  • Hope you manage to get the cheque sorted and the unemployment benefit claim. I also struggle to send off forms in time and stuff... I don't understand how I can be so organised at work and so disorganised at home - but I am.

I made my organised head redundant back in April & haven't re-employed it yet.....ought to but kind of enjoying being random, but it won't last long!

    Latest Update

Happy Rootin' Tootin' Saturday to you all.

I am treating myself to a couple of hours of MSE and, if I can be bothered, some home admin.

So I turn on the PC, leave it to boot up, come back and what do I find? Mr GG sat in front of it!!! I could scream. Men have rubbish timing and fail to see why I would find that annoying (clearly I have PMT and am armed and dangerous - well emotionally anyway!).

Last couple of days have been hectic, helping my pal out. Bit annoyed really and should have said no, as I have so much to do before I start my new job and I know it will all be super manic once I do, and those MUST DO jobs will get pushed further and further down the list.

My £2 coin collection is coming on nicely. I now have £44 stashed away. Dilemma is, do I wait til I have £50 or £100 before banking? By banking I mean paying towards one of my CC's? I think as tempting as it is to pay it off one of my smaller LOB cards, I should go for one of my 0% that finishes next year, just in case I can't get any more credit.

During my personal admin sort, I think that I still have various CC's that are nil balance yet still active - Egg - I got accepted but never took it any further as they gave me a rubbish limit, Accucard - I just paid off and never thought to cancel, same with IF - though they owe me 1p! So that is on my to do list!

Calling fellow Insurance savvy cat owners - our policy for the mogs is up for renewal. Two cats and policy is for £135 with NFU - any advice on who can beat that?? Or who you have great and, of course, cheap, experiences with!? Will obviously go down the cashback route. Would be rude and stupid not too.

Oh and I have chucked the cat litter tray away! Mr GG has not noticed and we've not had any accidents with the cats. They were using it less and less as they are spending more and more time outside, so if we can save on the outlay of cat litter then so be it. Esp as ours are fussy and won't use that pine pellet stuff, which is brill! No, they have to use CatSan which is sooooooooo expensive!

Before I go and catch up on other diaries, wanted to say that the DFW Diaries Board is really top. For most of us, and I hope nobody minds me saying, that our debt, is all our own doing, overspending and not being able to pay it back or having our wake up calls early enough, however, this board is very special in that it gives you the support and confidence to keep cutting back and not spend.

Did you know that MBNA have cut my limit by £4k? Wooo hooo! Happy Days. All cos I have not spent on the card for a number of months.

Scary fact was when I was totting up my new totals (and I have still not found a "missing" card") that it did occur to me that if I had not had my LBM and a serious one this time, that I could have easily have kept spending and I am sure my total on my MBNA card would have been about another £3-£4k more. Now, I can't even remember the PIN number for it. Good times.

Have a great weekend and if you fancy a little treat, make it an MSE treat - use a voucher or a code or get it on sale or whatever! Though whatever you do, be happy, be proud, you are a moneysaver, a follower of the Saviour Mr Lewis and a debt buster!!!

    Til the next installment..........

PS - Absolutely had a RIOT in a well known STATIONERY STORE this week. 7th Heaven. Though have been good MSE'r and think that I may get away with not having to use any of the new stuff and may even take it back. Did spend £24 something...... but, BOY, was it good.

I think that there must be something in the air relationship wise. Had big falling out with Mr GG. Massive humdinger. Predictably its flowers next day and an apology. Still feel really cross and agitated and am not sure where my head is at. Hormones don't help. Stress doesn't help. Black clouds don't help. Sometimes I think, like he says, I'd be better off on my own. Won't go into details about the argument, after all a private life is a private life.

Going to have a soak in the bath and a read of a donated magazine, not really my type of magazine, hey its free!

Today has been spent filing and putting credit card cancellation letters into their envelopes ready to be sent off, advising that the card is to be terminated and the card to be closed for ever more. Can you believe I have about five letters and have just found another one! Lets hope that this move has a good impact on my credit rating, though I don't actually know what my credit card rating is.

I can now see the floor in one of the bedrooms and have even Shaked n' Vacc'ed and hoovered. Go me! Sense of achievement for sure, though still have a bit more sorting on the paperwork front, little by little its getting there.

Found my spends diary, found the original mortgage statement which means I have forked out for another when I needn't have.

Can't get through to JSA for love nor money. Either engaged or rings out. I am never going to be able to get any JS before I start my new job.

Got another £2 coin over the weekend, so need to update my siggy.

Thanks for all the posts ladies, I do appreciate it, if at least to know I am not warbling to my insane self.

KJ - you make me smile as always. Hope things are going well for you.

Til the next installment............ let's hope its a bit of a merrier one next time folks.
