Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !
Well blow me down with a feather, its been ages since I’ve had a chance to log on here. For that I apologise. Even though I've not been posting, I have been a lurking and reading bits and bobs.
Life in the unemployed lane has been somewhat Crrr-azzzz-zy! I tell you, its social appt after social appt. It has been nice, though as usual the house has suffered and now its in desperate need of some TLC. Though I hasten to add, not in a Kim & Aggie germy nasty dirty kind of a way, more of an untidy, lets create a pile here, there, everywhere. So Team GG need to tackle the household chores head on.
Being as all the kiddlywinks have gone back to school and as a result all the roads are now positively murderous in the mornings/mid afternoons, I thought I would give you a little test:
Repeat after me:
Jay
Oooooooooooooooooooh
Bee
Put them together and what do you get?
JOB!
Those of you who got it right, get an extra 5mins at break time, those of you who got it wrong have to read the Dictionary from start to finish, in detention, after school today.
Uh-huh - I tell you no lies. I have been offered a job. A full time one. Money is not great, but perks are all singing all dancing, location is good and, well, quite frankly, I've accepted and need to sort out my clothes. At the moment I resemble the look of the lesser dressed C&A model. Not quite the impression one wants to make, at least not on the first day!!
Its been a long 6 months of signing on and I cannot lie that I am not sorry to wave goodbye to the grot hole of the local JSA. Heaven forbid I ever have to go back there.
Mr GG is super relieved and can't wait for me to start working. The temp work that I did was good in a lot of ways, made me realise and reach decisions about a few things, though for the main, has given me a quick refresher course in the ways of the business world, so I won't look like an utter klutz in my new job. Well, I like to think I'll save my klutz like behaviour for the second or third week I am sure.
So there will be a new chapter in my life, about to start imminently. Fingers xd it all goes ok. I am already in the swing of making my own lunches (as I was doing for my temp work) and I refuse to waste money on lunches. I am going to be good and cut right back to only bringing in goodies from home.
Mr GG's MSE training is developing nicely. Thanks for asking. He'd been to one of the local supermarkets and had literally cleared the shelves of loads of reduced ready meals that could be frozen. He was so chuffed with himself, he really was. I was like "Arise newly anointed Sir Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire - we salute you". Its all mind games with these boys, make them feel good and they'll repeat the behaviour. Bit like dogs and clicker training! We won't mention the fact that he didn't buy any loo roll or washing up liquid, which we had completely run out of, and I had specifically said we desperately needed. That's men for you though, I suppose. You can't have it all......
We had a yummy roast yesterday and when I went shopping for the meat, it was 2 for £7 and you could mix and match what you bought, so I was very MSE and bought two chickens that weighed 1.550kg rather than the ones that were prebasted and flavoured, that weighed 1.300kg, so more meat for your money. Hurrah for streeeeeeeeetching those pounds.
SH - really sorry that you have not been offered a job yet, I know how it feels, esp when you want to work for a company so badly and you know that you'll fit in, yet they decide not to give you the job and can't even give you a valid reason as to why. On the upside, who wants to work for a naff company like that. They dont deserve you.
K_30 - my heart goes out to you, it really does. I think a relationship break up is similar to a bereavement, at times you are sad, then angry, then bitter, then sad, then have a few moments of self-pity. You will get through it. There are just no hard and fast rules on how long or how quickly the process takes. Surround yourself with positive people, not necessarily ones who go on the anti Ex MrK_30 as I dont think that is always healthy.
Hello to my other cyber buds. I have missed you all and will get back up to speed on your diaries as soon as I am able. Though this week, tidying the GG nest must take priority.
Enough warblings from me. I will be back. I am off to tot up my new total of £2 coins. Indeed I have secured a few more since my last update. I also plan to update my signature too as they will have dropped down a bit. Though the not so good news is that my overdraft has taken an ickle bit of a battering. I am sure it could be a lot worse and I could be up to my limit or even over it, though since beginning of this year I have not spent another penny on my CC's, things are looking up. I won't admit its not been tough, refraining from buying stuff (esp whilst I was temping as had the WWW dangling pretty things at me to buy), though my abstinence from Internet shopping really has paid off. LOL - check out that uninentional pun.....!
Seriously, I am gone. I am outta here.
Til the next installment...........

Super duper quickie for now, as s'sposed to be somewhere else doing something else and I sat here in my PJ's!!! OOpps, I will be in trouble.
So in that case, shall get straight to the point.
Have been starting to climb the mountain of paperwork thats been accumulating at home, for goodness knows how long! Well, there I was opening all the unopened post (from my bury my head in the sand days) and what do I find?
Go on - guess?
I find a cheque for £220 payable to me!! Great news.
The bad news. Cheque is a year out of date. Its from a car accident (not my fault) and I have sent it back to the issuer for them to resend it out. So have everything crossed.
Moral of that story. Open the post, even if its to receive bad news, you never know what good surprises may be in them.
My unemployment claim on my insurance is still pending, they are waiting for my statement from the BSociety, which I am now sending off, once again, by the skin of my teeth, so have emailed, will also fax and post the blessed thing to make sure they get it. Slightly worried cos the statement cost me money for a reprint and guess what? I think I already had it as didnt realise they do it a whole year behind. So have copy for 2008, so hope that suffices or I think they will tell me to shove my claim.
Did a quick tally of my debt totals and Mr GG can't see how I have reduced it so much as I have only being paying the minimums, he thinks I have missed a CC out somewhere. Now he has got me thinking, maybe I have!
My new total is £19, 948 something.... so sub £20k. Trying not to get too excited at my achievement in case I have added it up wrongly!!
Really, I had better get off here before I make myself so totally late!
Will be back later for more waffling and stalking, I mean, reading of my fellow debt busting chum diaries - as have lapsed on quite a few lately as no time. Oh what a glamorous life I lead. If only.
See ya - wouldn't wanna be ya! Unless you have less debt than me, then lets swap!!!!!!!
